They took a call and it didn't work, so they had to use their muscle. They were embarrassed by Italian authorities. Which is probably when they realized it was dumb to come back. I don't think they are going to get a light sentence, if convicted.

It is possible there is an under hand deal in the works. Would be interesting to see how this unfolds if they do indeed come back. If they get a real strict sentence of 5 or more years, then I would say justice served.
