Now listen Dhoni is definetely an MVP as a player...hell i have been an advocate for him as a player even above Karthik,Pappu and Saha but that doesn't mean he has been stellar across all formats.....Apart from TINA factor you haven't explained yet as to why Dhoni deserves to continue to lead the side

Forget test matches and ODI's for a moment Lets take T20's into account-Dhoni is not the same player in T20's like he is in ODI's with the stigma of being kicked out in the opening rounds of 3 world tournaments. Why can't we start of with a new captain in T20 format and work our way upto the ODI by 2014...that's a long enough rope no? TINA factor for Dhoni is brought up by Dhoni bandwagon in ODI's bcoz he has been an absolute gem in that format but he will find his spot in jeopardy both as a captain and a player if he is appraised for the other 2 formats. Let's decide who the new captain would be. I have already mentioned that for me Kohli is the only choice at the moment. Do you have any other choice? If Kohli is the next captain, I don't want him to become a captain when likes of Sehwag & Gambhir are hovering around the team. I still remember how they under-mined Dhoni's captaincy when they were benched in Aus (CB series). They took pot-shots at Dhoni openly. If Kohli becomes a captain right now he would have to deal with all that cr@p and I would rather he does not. I would have Dhoni as the captain till 2015 WC when all the seniors have been kicked out and Kohli takes reigns of a fresh team without any baggage.

In that I respect the West Indies for doing everything to build a team for the future.

Maybe I missed when Tendulkar actually did score runs over the last 1.5 years, feel free to remind me. As for this odi series only one batsman did score runs and that was Dhoni.

Selectors should have benched both Sehwag and Gambhir but in Indian cricket that's not gonna happen where star power rules. In desi culture we all know how seniors react/behave when a young kid on the block supersedes the old timers. Do you think seniors won't try to undermine Kohli? Kohli's the star of the future and future captain. I wouldn't want him to deal with that shyt right now.

I mean usually ODIs are like a bridge...It's either LOI's(T20 and 50 overs) and tests or Tests and ODI under one leadership-Like Clarke and T20 under a new leader. Exactly...when SRT fans show that how he has still been the 2nd best batsman in disastorous series,people claim it is not good enough and how he is blocking the way for the youth and how he is affecting team's growth....but apparently Dhoni's individual performance and that too in one format where he has been mostly the 2nd best in recent times gives him a free pass in all formats as both a captain and a player...clear double standards

Infact forget Kohli,anyone who can shine through in such an environment is exactly what we need right now,that infact will define our cricketing future or else let;s enjoy the spiral

As I mentioned earlier I would give Kohli a fresh team without any baggage else Dhoni is the best bet to continue.
