Nonsense! What's there so much to learn? He wasted 3 overs of batting. It was a unique/adventurous declaration but that doesn't make it any special or whatever it might be called. Aggressive stuff, hatsoff for that but we don't have any strike bowlers like they do.

You have to admire Clarke, at least he thinks the game. In this particular case, 3 overs were far too less, 5 more overs and it'd probably have ended up in a wicket or two. I've seen many times teams with big lead, just dilly dally with their nos 10 and 11 playing half an hour without making many runs, wasting precious time.

Ashwin was a little more expensive in his later spells. He bowled first 6 overs and gave 1 run with 5 maidens IIRC. In his last 9 overs, he gave away 40 runs whereas Jadeja and Bhajji were a bit more economical. Maybe that's why he was given less overs.
