Lord Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Watching him bat. Same problem Yuvraj has, Raina has and Jadeja has( I have listed these 3 in order of whose best against short ball/pace, with yuvi being the best). Thats why all 4 should be not near test side if we want batters who can play all over world whats his problem exactly?
cricketpitch Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Why is Tiwary being discussed now? He was injured and has only recovered recently. Can't get him back to the national side right away. And looking at it, he will now be competing with Yuvraj for the middle order spot. Yuvraj has escaped scrutiny since his comeback but has failed in 2 ODI series back to back. With Dhoni not opting to bowl him at all, will become a handicap for Yuvi if he plays as a specialist batsman, will need to become more consistent. In a sense good signs that we are having tight competition for spots. Will only spurr the players to do better. I am sorry? Rohit prior to this innings was playing in the middle order. Thats the reason Tiwary is being discussed now. You are talking as if Rohit and Tiwary haven't been in contention for the same position ever.

Thats why all 4 should be not near test side if we want batters who can play all over world Tiwary hasn't played enough for you base this on. Watch Sehwag's first game against Pakistan. He struggled against Akthar and if I remember correctly he was LBW being late on the ball. We all know what he did to Akthar after few years. He needs to be tested at the international level. He needs to play at least half of the games Rohit has played before he can be called as a failure and a batsman who lacks technique. Rohit hasn't proven anything with this one time 83. He was dropped when he was 13 and one ball did not carry. So this could well have been another failure but for the luck. He did play some swipes across the line but he connected those this time. It was a good innings but not great.

Tiwary was injured for the last 2-3 months now and has recovered just a few days back. So my question why the Tiwary discussion? Had he been fully fit when the squad was picked, he would have been in the side ahead of Rohit as Dhoni also said.

Magneto Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Tiwary cannt play short ball or decent pace bowling. Will get raped overseas. Very few Indians can play decent pace bowling. Very few Indians can play spin for that matter. Rohit cannot play in wickets with low bounce, cannot play the incoming deliveries, cannot play straight balls and a million other things. Just playing short balls well is nothing. Had he been so great he would have scored some runs in the South Africa tour.

With this series win, 13 out of 15 will go for CT anyway. One pace bowling slot and one batting slot maybe up for grabs The Vijay Hazare and Deodhar will also happen in the meantime, but no one will look at it.

Magneto Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 hmm.. in IPL Rohit will outscore almost each of his competitors. :giggle: He is good in t20s and in IPL he is leagues ahead. But Rohit is not competing for the CT slot. He has booked his ticket anyway. The competition maybe between Rahane, Tiwary and Pujara.
Magneto Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 that'd be said.IPL shouldnt be a parameter imo. n no 13 wont go to CT anyway.10 will.Rohit's spot should still be in scrutiny Wouldn't be. :giggle: And 12 would surely go. Dinda, Mishra and Rahane are questionable. Let's bump this thread after the CT team is announced. If you rule out IPL, what else would you select your team on? The Australia series coincides with the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Deodhar, so Rahane and Pujara would not be playing that anyway. IPL is the only test of form that we have for CT.

Tiwary does well, he will be go to CT. Pujara could be the big loser unless given an opportunity in the final ODI. If he doesnt play, then he will have limited presence in IPL as well and will hurt his chances for CT unless Gambhir continues to fail even in the IPL.

Magneto Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 I guess:(( yeah in that case it can be,but T20 can make hacks look good and viice versa I actually think that no hack has done well consistently in IPL across seasons. The top 10 batsmen and bowlers are usually the top international stars and the top domestic performers. Likes of Valthaty and Bisla have done well once in a while.

You've even hyped up Flathappa and proclaimed Jadeja to be a future test prospect at times. Looks like you hype up everyone and then as and when someone out of the list does well you selectively bump up those threads forgetting the utter phails of your cricketing eye. :winky:
King Tendulkar Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Frankly have no idea who I am debating. As about 20 of you have the same avatar in some 5 year olds convention:--D I suggest you have individual avatars if you want to retain your indivituality

FFS sake give us a break:hysterical: Politicians get more lee way then I do on ICF:giggle:
