NareshK Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 One can be patient only if they are hopeful. What hope do you think this pathetic team is inspiring? Even this video was a result of hype, anyway. We couldn't win an away series even in Sri Lanka, but we were no 1 in tests. 1-1 was still a great result. Should have won the series if not for Kallis playing a great innings. I would take overseas performances like that any day.
Asim Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 I dont see why your getting so happy. You barely won the 1st T20 and 1st ODI. If Ashwin played the first T20, then we would have won that. Even Hafeez said so. If Jamshed was given out during the first LBW appeal, than Pakistan would have lost that match as well. One more thing, you were playing against a third string seam attack. If both Pathan and Yadav were playing, than you would have lost both T20 and ODI series comprehensively Funniest post Iv seen in a while... Aap yeh series jeet gaey bhai, Many Congrats...
King Tendulkar Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 It took years for even Sachin, Dravid, Zaheer etc. to become good at playing in Eng, SA and Aus. True. People forget that players need time and improve and get better. Dravid was hapless against aus, then 2001 he made it happen fiannly against them. Kallis was rubbish v aus. Only in last few years has he started to do well against them Kumble was rubbish in aus. Then after years started to finally deliver with better bowling and help of runs on the board Zaheer got axed and dumped in county cricket, came back and then delivered. Laxman picked, dropped, picked, dropped. Got axed again, then came back in 2001 and rest is history. Gambhir axed and dumped for over a year. Came back to become ranked number 1 test bat. Point is be patient with talented youngsters like pujara, kohli, rohit and shami ahmed. They will have down as well as ups but we need to stick with them and allow them to learn from errors and successes. If we plan propely and pick young good team for 1 year or more, then by late 2014 we will have team to challenge for number 1 ranking in 2015. But it needs planning and good selction
NareshK Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Funniest post Iv seen in a while... Aap yeh series jeet gaey bhai, Many Congrats... So you won a couple of useless ODIs in India, big deal. You cant do any better than this anyway, so you are making it out to be a big achievement. Even NZ won 2 ODIs in South Africa and SL did the same in Aus. Let us know when you reach No.1 in ODIs, No.1 in Tests and win 8 games against us in World Cup and win the World Cup again. :hysterical:

Straight in to test side for home series against nz should have been kohli, pujara, rohit and shami etc Out and retired should have been sachin, sehwag and zak. Dhoni dropped and replaced as skipper. But all 4 may still make side against aus, our planning is a disgrace

The selectors lacked the vision to build a team for the future when Dravid, Laxman, Ganguly, Kumble were getting close to requirement and didnt give opportunities to the right players.

Well I can see why they gave yuvi and raina a go. They did look good in odis and it did seem as if they may do ok in tests. But they tried them and gave them good go. But when it was obvious they could not do the bussiness in tests and were just good odi players, they then relected them and we had sight of yuvraj and raina in tests v england away. Then yuv got back in again. They are some dumb would not be suprised they get recalled and play with another not suited to tests in jadeja.
King Tendulkar Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 no' date='it should have been way earlier.the retirements os seniors wasnt planned, nor were the replacements identified correctly.we adopted a reactive approach instead of being proactive and messed up there too[/quote'] In hindsight yes i totally agree. But can see why they gave the atgs one last series in aus to see if they still had it

SLICKR392 Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 I think that sums it up:giggle: Explain what was so funny? We had match winners back then. Hack scores a ton in Australia which was totally meaningless. Few 50s and a ton against NZ and here comes an other meaningless 100 against England.
