vamos_rafa Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Suggesting him for test cricket is ridiculous, he of course comes at the expense of a batsman and frankly I'll take Raina over him any day. In ODI Pathan is a better option than him and even he is not in the team , don't see how Nayar will ever play for india . I don't understand how can you be so dismissive of a player? Let him play an A-tour or something. I am not sure whether he has, but we all think we have that "eye" for the talent but we don't. And as much as I don't like Jadeja, this arguement does hold true for him as well. All those who do well in domestic cricket should be given as much exposure as possible and their performances should be monitored.
Vivek.S.123 Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 This guy was so good during the first 2 seasons of IPL. Another wasted talent by BCCI
King Tendulkar Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 I am shocked at amount of people who rate nayar:hysterical:
WeStMiDz Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 I am shocked at amount of people who rate nayar:hysterical: This.
G_B_ Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 I doubt he can be a international standard bowler. Still he is worth trying out as a batsman in the test matches. He usually bats at 5-6 and most of his runs this ranji season have come when Mumbai were facing some batting issues in their innings. So if you want to play him then play him at 6 as your crisis man. But dont select him on the back of his bowling. Its a bonus
cricketman Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 I am a big Abhishek Nayar fan. He has been a talisman for the Mumbai ranji trophy side for years. Thre are few players with as much guts and commitment to their side than Nayar. He is always performing be it in the field, with the ball, or with the bat. I think that he has been given a bit of a short rope in international cricket. He played something like 3 games, barely faced any deliveries, and bowled like 3 overs or so total. Then he was out of the team. I really think he can be a valuable player for the international side. I would like to give him a shot at number 7 over seas. I think between Jadeja, Irfan, and Nayar - 3 totally different players - we can find a decent allround option for all conditions. Edit - i'm talking for ODIs/T20 cricket. In tests, though I would personally love to see him in the team, India has always preferred specialists (apart from the recent bizarre selection of Ravinder jadeja v England). I don't think he will even be considered for the test team. But I would personally dream of him playing actually at number 5 or so... his inclusion in the team can't make our test performances worse than they are now.
Lord Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 I am shocked at amount of people who rate nayar:hysterical: why?because you dont rate him?
