Does BCCI consider tests a top priority ?

I dont think so. Most of the pitches in domestic cricket still continue to be unhelpful for seamers and dont test a batsman's technique and make it impossible to produce good, wicket taking fast bowlers. BCCI doesnt send our young cricketers to county cricket to get used to foreign conditions and make them better all round cricketers. They allow all the national side players to play all games in IPL, leading to fatigue and injuries besides growing bad habits in terms of technique and temperament which will make them lesser players in longer version. I can go on. I dont get the confidence that India is desperate to become a top team in tests again. What do you think needs to be done for things to change ?

right steps are being taken with india a, but domestic pitches still need changing especially places like Rajkot or Chennai. also would like to see india a take part in a first class competition in SA, Aus, Eng, or NZ like Eng A have done previously, i think last year Eng A played full Caribbean first class season. this is where BCCI has huge advantage in terms of financial power, they could easily convince likes of SA or NZ to allow India A take part in their domestic season. unfortunately only eng's season happens during india's off season.

The truth is that Indians consider test cricket boring. That is why there are barely any crowds during home tests. BCCI and Indian management don't care about tests either. Dhoni doesn't care about tests as well.

The fact that Dhoni is still your test captain, it's pretty clear they couldn't care less about test cricket. There is nobody better argument doesn't work when you have the kind of record as a test captain that Dhoni does in the last 2 years, the odi record isn't much better either.

"Most of the pitches in domestic cricket still continue to be unhelpful for seamers" How to do you explain domestic bowling averages of ATGs like PK and Jogi in lower 20s ? 152977.1.jpg
I would play them in Tests. SA ignored Philander for so long coz he wasn't fast enough. Plus we already saw PK out-perform other bowlers so why not give Jogi a shot as well.
