Am I the only one who thought the question was completely redundant, besides being moot? Did I say it was redundant? Well the Pakistani fan wins hands down in any competition. Here's why 1) Their absolute faith in their cricket team Over the course of many decades, players like Imran and Wasim have given way to players like Tanvir and Akmal (with some druggies, fixers and a generous dose of genital warts in the interlude), but the absolute blind faith which a Pakistani fan has for his team has never wavered. You see, the Pakistani fan deeply believes that their team is incapable of losing. Not Australia, not India, not South Africa; the only team which can defeat it is Pakistan itself. So every match which the opponent wins is because Pakistani players let them. Sometimes for money, sometimes for a captaincy change - a form of protest and sometimes for signalling a bookie on the TV. A normal guy waves to the camera to say hi to his relatives, a Pakistani player does the same by extending his wrong foot, sometimes many meters in front of the bowling crease. Hi Mazhar, heres a no-ball, give my regards to bhabhi ji. Afridi wouldnt have been out a single time in his career if he had got along with even one captain in his life. Conclusion - No other teams's fans come close to this level of belief in their players. 2) Their ability to remember meaningless stats Dont get me wrong, as an India I am the last one to deride the love of stats. Ask me the decimal points in Sachin's test average and I might know it ( its .32), or how many times he got caught against Australia in tests (22) or how many (wait, maybe its only Sachin I know about). But only the Pakistani fan will proclaim proudly the uselessness of such stats as wins in South Africa, wins in Australia, wins in world cups against India yet proudly remember each loving detail of the speedometer readings (the text was in Mueseo sans when he bowled 145kmph and my heart went pat pat pat), how many times Sachin (who is just another oridinary player) scored a losing 100 and the head to head record since the first mughal chased after Lodi's balls with a stick which just might have looked like a bat Conclusion - They hate stats but are forced to remember the least important ones to defend their team, such is their love for their team 3) They can bounce back from any defeat I am ashamed at the Indian fans with their dropping shoulders and their morose disposition after a mere 8-0 defeat that too in two seperate series. We have a lot to learn from the typical Pak fan. They can be regularly whitewashed as soon as they step off a plane or are within a thousand miles of a world cup but let them win a game in the next kitply sher e Punjab cup and they are upbeat enough to even troll the number one teams in all format. They have been laughed at, humiliated, for many months, but as soon as the cool and cool cup is over, we see them with a big smile, as if all their detractors have been fitingly answered and silenced Conclusion - Optimism, thy name is Chacha cricket 4) They pay for visas for home series Now which other country's fans would pay to go abroad, to watch a home series? Has an Indian fan done it? Has an english fan done it? Pakistani fans are the only ones who are ready to fly abroad for a home series, such is their enthusiam and fan following Conclusion - When your players cant play at home, you carry the home to the players 5) When they support their players, they support their players We have our share of die hard fans. Example, many here are big fans of Sachin (personally I dont understand what folks see in that bloke) and support his decisions. Some might support his decision to retire, others might oppose it and still others like Mariyam might say, "Sachin who"? But no one but a Pakistani fan can support complete opposing views from the same player and defend each with equal enthusiasm. Sample this Afridi retires from cricket - Pak fan says, "Absolutely great idea, he was unappreciated, youngsters should be given a chance, team comes first" Afridi unretires from cricket - Same Pak fan says,"This is why he is so great. Team needed him, we need experiece, team comes first" Afridi retires again - Same Pak fan says,"Greatest idea ever, what a selfless person, team comes first" Conclusion - Lots for us Indian fans to learn from the humble, magnificient and peerless marvel which is the Pakistani cricket fan Disclaimer - This article is fiction and the author's sole creation and in no way was he influenced, co-erced or forced into writing this by the ICF staff. panther Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 The pcb purposely picks the worst talent available to keep international cricket at a level playing field or otherwise pakistan will never lose, if sachin faced some of the fast bowlers on the streets of pak he would forget about 100 100 and quit cricket.

The selection of wkt keeper Kamran "Kamaal" Akmal, is based on the same principle. What a chariable team Pakistan is.
