How can you get normal swing with old ball. It can happen in helpful condition like England but not even bowler will know when it is reversing when it is normal swing. Reverse swing is not just about bringing the ball back in. You can also bowl away swingers with old bowl using reverse swing by changing the sides.

I guess Steyn has better average and SR than even the great bowlers of previous era who had the luxury of bowling on uncovered wickets and bodyline to batsmen without helmet and other protection gear. Just imagine how many wickets,SR and AVG Steyn would have had he bowled in the conditions of previous era.I rate him as one of the ATG bowlers.

Great bowler and a nice bloke. When SA played at Headingley a couple of years ago, he took time to chat to spectators and sign autographs 20 minutes before play started just after he'd finished warming up, when SA were due to bowl. I don't know many players who would do that
