We had lots of green pitches this season in Ranji trophy that is why so many pacers in top wicket takers list. Pitches at Mohali, Lahli, Indore, Srinagar, Eden Gardens, were all greenish tracks, helping pacers. In fact, we rarely saw raging turners in Ranji trophy this season.

It is like all of them played on green tracks. Jivanjot did play most of his matches at Mohali in helpful conditions for pacers.

I want to see green pitches and sporting tracks in all centers for Ranji trophy and test matches too. I dont know about others but its more exciting to watch test cricket when there is help for seamers rather than spinners. Indian tracks which are slow and low are boring to watch because batsmen find it difficult to play shots because pace and bounce becomes uneven and seamers dont get any help from the track. Conditions in SA and England are best for test cricket.

Also, it would be nice if BCCI could build grounds in hill stations and places at high altitude, particularly in North India where temperature is low in winter. Places like these almost always help seam bowlers because wicket will not become dry like in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai etc because of heat. If we play test cricket and domestic cricket there, we can compete well overseas. Playing on slow, low wickets in India will be good for winning at home but we will be thrashed overseas.

we had good pitches last season but i hope people realize its long process . we need pitches like this for atleast 6-7 years to see any change so dont expect any magical changes infact most of these current ranji players may not even benefit youngsters will benefit the most and quick bowlers will learn to bowl longer spells and get into thinking of getting wickets instead of containing runs and bowling just 10 overs each day

A pitch which is hard and has good pace and bounce with grass on the wicket to keep it together and also to retain moisture which will assist movement. The temperature should also be pleasant because its tough to bowl fast in hot, humid weather and also for the pitch to not become too dry. That's why I mentioned hill stations and high altitude locations in India. Such a wicket will also be good for batsmen for playing shots provided they have good technique and defense. Naturally, on 4th day because of the rough and deterioration of the pitch, spinners will come into play. I'm not a big fan of pitches where ball dies on the way to wicket keeper and there is no help for fast bowlers. I personally find it boring.

Thus, we had a lot of home games played in the winter up north. MP also had sporting matches. If I'm mistaken Saurashtra's home pitches are usually belters where batsmen score triple tons. But hey, we have Pujara coming out from there. One positive is that a players learns to play the big innings on these tracks.

Sir jaddu also scores triples in Saurashtra, and he is an epic failure in international. Flat pitches give you false sense that a batsman is great, when in reality they are just FTBs (Sehwag, Yuvraj, Raina)

Pujara was brilliant away from home too in a toyrs thts why he is speciasir job jaddu cannot score runs outside of saurashtra:haha:
