All talk no show. Just because somebody else with 'tricks' can solve it in two mins doesn't necessarily mean it applies to you. Put up or Shut Up. After-all it was you who made the comment which went something like this 'That just proves solving Rubik's cube is overhyped'
Dude it's an open secret that solving a Rubik cube is more about knowing certain moves and nothing to do with skill or intelligence. Even Will Smith solved it under two minutes on live TV. Anyone can solve it if they know the cheat, the hype was created by the manufacturers

Probably there is nothing in worls where lack of intelligence can be compensated with extra hardwork. Intelligence can provide you a bit start on others but then it's about perseverance. As a kid I used to think that Chess is about intelligence, but fact is that it's more about memorizing different moves. Similarly Rubik cube thing.

You need decent spatial ability. At least to solve it under 2 minutes. Not everyone is blessed with good spatial ability. I remember as a sutdent, there were some otherwise brilliant students in my class who used to struggle in Engineering Drawing due to poor spatial ability.
