aus has the best balance team .. they will win more than they lose .. the way watson and white have come along .. also the way they have been built and fitness they posess ..they are amazing.. i see another dominant aus era coming up... india is not close to even this team.. amazing aussies...
Do you remember the ass kicking we gave them last year ? We will see about "not close to this team" in the 7-match ODI series.

That was only in tests when australia had cameron white as a front line spinner and really if australia didn't go all out for the win to tie up the series the scoreline would have been india 1-0 instead of 2-0. By the way the aussies were without the best ranked bowler in one day cricket for the whole tournament in bracken and australia's second best batsmen clarke and their best wicket keeper batsmen haddin as well.

Winning one or 2 trny doesnt make a team great and losing a couple doesnt make a team bad either. Aus is still a very good team and when most people talk about the decline of Aus, they are comparing with the Aus of yesteryear and not the teams that are playing now. Aus is just as good or as bad as SA and India. Just to show how close these 3 teams are, if you add up their ICC rating of both ODI and tests, Aus is at 244 and India and SA are at 243. The next best is SL at 226. Even if you add up the position in the ranking ladder, SA is 4(lower being better) and Aus/Ind is at 5. Next best is SL at 9. This just goes to show that 3 teams have played consistently in the last couple of years in both formats and while Aus era has ended, Aus is still among the best 3 side in the world.

honestly do u believe our team is good enough as their team.. think neutral .. not as a passsionate indian fan. also our indian team does not become just bcos we have good batsmen in our midst. i think we have good batsmen and good wicket keeper.. bowlers are no good .. aus has good batsmen , bowlers and excellent allrounders.. i think they have atleast 4 or 5 of them !!! watson , white , hopes , johnson , lee.. clarke all are all rounders :omg: this is surely a world beating side..

Bloody hell they are pathetic now. Even I am shocked at how bad they have become. I called this a while back when people were still in awe of them that their domination was over. But must admit cant belive how poor they have become now. They are genuinley around 5th or 6th best team in the world. Their batting is pathetic with no talent coming through and their spin dept is empty. Puts a lie to how people would say in past their state teams would beat national teams, as stated by oz fanboys. What a fall from the top they have had, they seem to be going the windeis way after their domination. And things dont look like they will get better. Ponting on his way out, Johnson out, Hussey soon will need a walking stick etc etc. The future looks miserable for aus fans

My God you are the most miserable **** in the world KT - don't you have better things to do than whale on Australian cricketers constantly?

they deserve it. Making an above average English team look like an excellent team :giggle:

Never count the Aussies out. They are still going to be a dangerous force to reckon with. They were not the favouraite in 1987 either when they were going through a similar rebuilding phase. They also had a relatively inexperienced team in 1996 too when they made it to the finals. I think they still have an outside chance but yes It's definitely the end of an era of Aussie dominance. For the sake of cricket hope they don't turn out to be the next windies.

Well the WI were selecting batsmen that could only average high 20's in domestic cricket, I doubt we will get that desperate. England are due to have some fine players, and good on them. We had some all time great players, and were privileged to have them, but no team is always going to have 6 or 7 all time great players in every era, no matter how good your system is. Sometimes the opposition plays better, Steve Waugh and Mark Taylor both couldnt beat India in India.

I dont understand why they dont pick Usman Khawaja He is such a quality batsmen
Ponting is a goner after the Ashes.. Khawaja and Ferguson will definitely cement their place in the Aus side after the Ashes is done and dusted

I wonder why you are pimping his cause?:giggle:
He has got a point in saying that leave alone opinions not related to cricket the guy has been doing really well and still not being able to come into the team although there have been miserable failures over the past few months by other batsmen if u call everything related to aussies with slang .. thats inapproproate imo

Their era of dominace is I believe over. They may still be the no1 team and will of course win more then they lose. However' date=' I believe there complete dominance they have displayed for over a decade is OVER![/quote']I thought their dominance was over after ODI WC 2007...to be specific when we beat them in the semifinal of the T20 WC, Aussie dominance ended. However they remained a better side against all opposition except India for another year. Absolute proof of end of era was at Sydney, on 06 Jan 2008. They managed to put themselves in so much chaos after an absolutely fabulous victory later that night and since then basically fell down from 1 to 4 over night. They are yet to recover from the trauma of what happened over the next few days...so much so that, I believe that they now believe they can't beat India in a Test. The 10 days between Sydney and Perth basically was the single most important period in recent cricket History...it was like the previous champions passing the baton over to the next champion team. Pawning was disgraced to death by his own media who also declared Kumble should be the new secretary general of the UN...the Statesman the planet needed to ride thru this civilizational crisis! (ofc he deserved those accolades). Straaya have plummeted since the night of 06 jan 08 and India have risen. Saffers still have to wait out 2 champion teams' dominances to have their turn. I dunno who will take over from us between 2016-2020...but my intuition says saffers will have to wait their turn for the one after that team.

When this test finishes, Australia would have gone without a test match win for 5 matches. The last time they endured a bigger stretch was way back in the mid 80s, when they went without a win for 14 straight matches with the tied test in between.
