True we seem to have an incessant supply of them and the rest we convert ie. Munaf.
I did tell you this would happen when Prasad was made bowling coach. Not surprisingly, the slow bowling future (Ojha, Chawla, Powar, Harbhajan, maybe even Mishra who's enjoying a resurgence) is looking much brighter than it was some time before he took up the slot.

Has anyone seen last seasons Ranji games? OMG opening bowlers from Karnataka Hyd were barely reaching 120kmph it was soooo SAD to watch..... Ishant Sharma is wasting away at age 19 or whatever and his goal for now should be to generate mass faster than the rate at which hes losing it.

pretty much every non-spinner who has ever bowled for india except: Kapil Dev TA Shekar (rare non-trundler who was dumped even before his stats could be calculated) Prasad (?) Srinath Zaheer Agarkar Sreesanth Balaji Nehra
I guess we know now why he keeps getting picked :eyedance:

Harsh calling VRV a trundler- hes not great but definitely fast medium. mid to high 80's on the SAF tour Itd be easier listing the NON trundlers as someone did above : - )

abey kuruvila harvinder singh debasis mohanty etc
harvinder was quite pacey... well above 80mph consistently. often past 85 too. pathan started around 83-88 range then diminished with every passing day, but he does have immaculate control so you never know. mohanty during the sahara cup where he completely worked over pakistan along with a ganguly that was doing everything right was quite fast. then he ran into jayasuriya in the peak of his form on flat indian pancake pitches. lost his speed, his confidence, his spot in the team and quite possibly most of his money.

Harvinder Singh and Mohanty sliced and diced the Pakistani top order in the 1997 Sahara Cup.

Bump! I've been reading that despite being endowed with good height, Pankaj Singh has not been getting anyone excited with his bowling. Hope he shows some improvement in a year or so, otherwise should add him to this Trundlers Galore thread.

Gaurav Dhiman is considered to be an all-rounder... He used to open the innings for the U-19 team and in some cases open the bowling as well...!! so it wouldn't be fair to club him in with jogi and jp yadav because he hasn't been given a chance at the international level( wonder if he ever will)...

I have been totally converted by Gats and company to an extent that I now believe no fast bowler who averages less than 135 kmph should come into the national team, unless he can bat a bit.

S Clark isnt too far off the 135 mark, but Asif ? I would like to think he is quite quick, unless of course he has lost a lot of pace off late.
