Anti Ajinkya Rahane Brigade

]Rohit does not slog. Slogging is what Afridi does. Rohit always play with straight bat with full face and can hit big shots when needed. Rahane cannot do anything' date=' can neither rotate strike or hit big shots.[/b'] If there was no Kohli, then we would have seen how he had played.
Yeah right. What Rohit does is pure slogging. If things aren't going his way, he blindly slogs. A tad better than Afridi. Rahane might not have the 'class' or 'talent' but as of now, he is far superior to Rohit and since when does Rohit take singles? You probably missed the game yesterday.

Cross batted shots are called slogs, but he is a sloth.

To be fair' date=' Rahane is more of an opener and Rohit a middle order bat. Since he has some runs behind him, Rohit might score runs at #4 now.[/quote'] Thing is Rahane himself wants to bat in middle order than opening. He was used as an opener first but failed and then he talked to selectors and said that he wants to play in middle order and not as an opener.

NO. He plays 'brilliant' shots very rarely. That guy was slogging to save his life in NZ whereas even Dhawan who was out form managed some good ground shots. He was chasing wide bad deliveries of Mortaza and Rubel yesterday. Made them look like Steyn's out swingers.

He said that in Tests, not in LOIs. I don't like him at #4 either but Rohit and Rahane should switch slots.

Rohit and Dhawan batted without the help of dew and they provided a god start of 50 odd. Even with all the dew help' date=' his SR was 70. :bumsmack:[/quote'] SR is 87. :beee: Nohit's SR would be below 30 if not for a slog six. got out when the dew came. nohit is doing what sehwag does, 20-30 every match. difference is sehwag will have 130 SR and nohit has 30 SR

Those are not called slogs. You need to understand difference of slogging and playing cricketing shots with pure timing and elegance. Yusuf, Afiridi do slogging aka cowlashing to mid wicket. Rohit plays pure cricketing shots with straight bat, mostly on mid off and mid on. According to you, Jaysuriya and Gilchrist made their cricket career by slogging.

No' date=' it was for ODI. he never opened in tests in first place. There is a reason he started batting in middle order in ODIs after England ODI series last year.[/quote'] No it was question of selection After England rohit clicked as opener and SO did dhawan so only place left was middle over And what ur talking about is when vijay was included in test team or may be dhawan in test team it was never discussion about Odis

At least what he did during his innings in NZ. He played aerial shots against Australia in the latter part of his innings. Which were well timed unlike the ones in NZ. Overall, he is horrible at building an innings and Rahane tops him there. As an opener, he goes in there with a defensive mindset, no matter how much we are chasing and who the opposition is.

There is a reason he started batting in middle order in ODIs after England ODI series last year.[/quote'] No. He came back into the side as a middle order bat in NZ because Rohit-Dhawan had occupied the opening slots. He never asked the selectors to opt him out as an opener in LOIs. It was in Test.

No, it was about ODIs. Rahane was given chances ahead of Rohit as an opener against Pak and England. Rohit only opened when they failed. I remember he himself was talking about it in an interview that he wants to bat in middle order in ODIs. He never opened in tests, so there was no question him talking with selectors to bat in middle order.

Funny part is he opens in ipl and even in domestic Odis ircc
