deathmonger Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 bas kar pagle' date=' ab rulaiga kya :hysterical:[/quote'] Why? Gambhir is doing OK in ODIs. Was even in ICC ODI team of the year 2012. It's tests he's sucking in. Even Jaddu's doing well in ODIs post comeback. Was decent in Eng as well.
JaFanatic Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 bas kar pagle' date=' ab rulaiga kya :hysterical:[/quote'] mishra has always performed with his limited opportunities in odis check his numbers also he is performing well in the current domestic season too with 18 wks in 9 list A matches jadeja is our best ranked bowler and our only bowler in the top 10 he is avging under 20 this year so far and since the tourney is in england we cant go for 3 spinners so it makes sense to pick him as he can be a handy lower middle order batsman i dont see any reason to drop zak i will give him 3 more matches before dropping him considering he can be an effective bowler in engand gambhir's avg is 52 in 2012 season and he did score a 50+ and 30+ in his last 5 matches so he can regain his form in this series
GautiMaan Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Gauti Dhawan Pujara Kohli Yuvi Raina Dhoni Ash Bhuvi Yadav Shami reserves Rayudu,Dk,Awana,Jaddu 7 batsmen+4 bowlers=success for India
SLICKR392 Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 bas kar pagle' date=' ab rulaiga kya :hysterical:[/quote'] Oh please ! GG scored 300+ runs at 44+ avg with 2 90's in a row in Australia. Kohli became the highest scorer just because of that one innings in the flat pitch at Hobbart against SL where GG scored a valuable 60+.
FischerTal Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Why? Gambhir is doing OK in ODIs. Was even in ICC ODI team of the year 2012. It's tests he's sucking in. Even Jaddu's doing well in ODIs post comeback. Was decent in Eng as well. did u see him in odis against england? he looked like the same cocaine addict that kept ticking at any ball outside the offtump.
deathmonger Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 mishra has always performed with his limited opportunities in odis check his numbers also he is performing well in the current domestic season too with 18 wks in 9 list A matches jadeja is our best ranked bowler and our only bowler in the top 10 he is avging under 20 this year so far and since the tourney is in england we cant go for 3 spinners so it makes sense to pick him as he can be a handy lower middle order batsman i dont see any reason to drop zak i will give him 3 more matches before dropping him considering he can be an effective bowler in engand gambhir's avg is 52 in 2012 season and he did score a 50+ and 30+ in his last 5 matches so he can regain his form in this series Zak I would drop though. He can't handle it all. We do need him for the gauntlet of SA,Eng,NZ,Aus.
deathmonger Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 did u see him in odis against england? he looked like the same cocaine addict that kept ticking at any ball outside the offtump. One series. Unlike his test problems where he was sucking for two years, GG was awesome in series in SL, CB series etc.
SLICKR392 Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 did u see him in odis against england? he looked like the same cocaine addict that kept ticking at any ball outside the offtump. And Kohli against England in ODIs? Just that 1 50..hell he failed against Pak as well.
FischerTal Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 mishra has always performed with his limited opportunities in odis check his numbers also he is performing well in the current domestic season too with 18 wks in 9 list A matches jadeja is our best ranked bowler and our only bowler in the top 10 he is avging under 20 this year so far and since the tourney is in england we cant go for 3 spinners so it makes sense to pick him as he can be a handy lower middle order batsman i dont see any reason to drop zak i will give him 3 more matches before dropping him considering he can be an effective bowler in engand gambhir's avg is 52 in 2012 season and he did score a 50+ and 30+ in his last 5 matches so he can regain his form in this series a big difference between indian pitches and england, thats my reason for not having jadeja and mishra. in fact, spinner is not really required besides maybe ashwin in england. zak did horrible in ranji, he didnt show any signs of improvement, he could barely hit 130 and above. as for gambhir, did u see him in mohali and dharamshala odis? when a little swing is on offer, he becomes completely clueless. he will get you 20 runs at best and even thats saying too much.
FischerTal Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 And Kohli against England in ODIs? Just that 1 50..hell he failed against Pak as well. then who will u replace kohli with? hes an integral part of our 2015 world cup plans. gambhir can be replaced, u chand, s dhawan, and others are waiting. A rayudu should come in for Yuvraj
FischerTal Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 One series. Unlike his test problems where he was sucking for two years' date=' GG was awesome in series in SL, CB series etc.[/quote'] he still has chance i agree in comparison with Sehwag who is a goner, but that hunger for runs is gone. it was evident in the way he played these last couple of odis where he just wanted to get to 30 with horrible strike rates, so he could secure his place. thats not the right attitude
SLICKR392 Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 then who will u replace kohli with? hes an integral part of our 2015 world cup plans. gambhir can be replaced' date=' u chand, s dhawan, and others are waiting. A rayudu should come in for Yuvraj[/quote'] Oh sure! Integral part who hasn't scored a ton on Testing oversees conditions. That's the way to go! He is just 30 and people are asking for a replacement. :nice:

GG has failed only in this one series. He did well in SL 2nd ODI where it was swinging and India were bundled out for a low score. Also good CB series in Oz. ODI pitches in England are hardly as difficult as test pitches. We scored 270-300 every match in 2011. As for Jadeja he did OK in Eng 2011. Wouldn't have him in the playing XI but would have him in the 15.

He is just 30 and people are asking for a replacement. :nice: he was our best player on WACA pitch and 116 in first innings at Adelaide. Even though Adelaide is a flat track, he was the best scorer in that test where he got run out in 2nd innings and he was on 22. gambhir managed a 34 and 3. GG is too damn arrogant. Remember the "we still average 53" attitude? that will be his downfall

Remember the "we still average 53" attitude? that will be his downfall I'm talking about ODIs. And GG scored 80 odd as well but I know it doesn't mean a lot. When did I say he has a good attitude ? Dropping him permanently is what you are trying to say which is a bit foolish IMO.
FischerTal Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 It already has. They have been dropped. Hope it burns a fire under his ass. As an Indian fan, I want him to succeed, but I also want to make sure chances are given to other deserving people
