FischerTal Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Padoshi desh kirkut website had this topic up for a long time.:giggle: I wanna know your opinion. For me personally, even though Che has only scored so far in India, he has a better technique and temperament than Azhar Ali.
SLICKR392 Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I remember few people comparing Azhar to Dravid.

He avgs 28 outside Asia (13 matches mind you, that's a pretty big number)
FischerTal Posted March 25, 2013 Author Posted March 25, 2013 I remember few people comparing Azhar to Dravid. :hysterical: also, they talk about Che is in no comparison with U Akmal and U Amin. http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view/697149/lisa-kudrow-laughing-o.gif
deathmonger Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Although considering that, he along with Asad are pretty OK batsmen. Capitalizes on flat tracks. Pakistan is going to become very very bad in a few years time. May even become worse than WI/NZ (who are improving). Except Azhar/Asad who have found some success, all their new players are crap. All their proven performers (YK,Misbah,Ajmal,Rehman) are very very old. (35+) There are no openers, no middle order batsmen. no fast bowlers, no spinners, no WKs (in short everything) in sight. Fun times.
saneindian Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Azhar Ali is a good batsman and will end with around 6000 runs, 15-20 100s and a 40-41 test average. OTOH if Pujara doesn't end with 10k+ runs, 35 100s and average over 50, he would not have done justice to his talent.

What i liked about Pujara is the pace at which he made his runs in this series. Surprised me. He looks like somebody who is more positive than a normal grinder.

But both Kohli and Pujara should end with 10k runs and 50+ avg. Far easier now then what RD,SRT,SG had o contend with. Flatter tracks, loads of matches.

Che can be ATG if he keeps working hard and his wife makes sure he performs :winky:
NareshK Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Are you kidding me ? You comparing Pujara with Azhar "100 balls 3 Runs" Ali ? Azhar is a strokeless wonder like Manjrekar who completely goes into a shell with defense and cant score runs even off half volleys or wide deliveries.

SLICKR392 Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 This thread is a moreover of a comparison of Pak's #3 vs ours. :agree: Let us see it that way.

FischerTal Posted March 25, 2013 Author Posted March 25, 2013 Don't think he will be made captain. It will prolly go to Ashwin. Eh Ashwin as captain doesnt gel for me on foreign pitches, especially England. He is not even required there tbh. Che is the likely captain if Kohli is not made captain.

But the reason I'm saying Ashwin might be picked for captain is because he's a "good boy" - Doesn't sledge or abuse, speaks well, already has experience of doing a lot of press conferences.
