Old guy Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Mishbah took his team to within one strike of a win' date=' they lost by 5 runs in the end[/quote'] im talking about odi world cup if this knock of dhoni was better than everyone than that knock of misbah was better than tendulkar's as simple as that! :winky:
Sidhoni Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Mishbah took his team to within one strike of a win' date=' they lost by 5 runs in the end[/quote'] I think we are talking about Mohali and not T20 WC final
Old guy Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 That second statement was for you' date=' if you don't think that it is the best, fine. But it was certainly not a choke.[/quote'] so for different people its different inning ? its either the best or not ...how does discussing it with me or some one else change that?
Sidhoni Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 No' date=' you lost the game because Dhoni came at no 7. He was always going to be left stranded because you only had taileners left and you expect tailenenders to rotate strike effectively? If Dhoni had come earlier, Barvo, Jadeja wouldnt have been under great pressure and thrown their wickets away. Dhoni coming at 4-5 and you would easily have won[/quote'] Dhoni coming at 4-5 would have surely been great but as always he backs himself and his players. He thought Vijay, Bravo and Jadeja could play some sensible cricket for few overs without giving away wickets. Around 90 needed in last 10 with Dhoni, Albie still to come and we would have been in a very good position.

Sidhoni Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 so for different people its different inning ? its either the best or not ...how does discussing it with me or some one else change that? Because you don't agree its the best and that much I can understand. But it is definitely not a choke.

asterix Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 if there is an auction next year for all players Mumbai should bid for Dhoni. It will turn the tables upside down..... Don't need another choker in the team... :P
bulbul Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Don't need another choker in the team... :P No you can't avoid him :--D
Old guy Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 For me it is' date=' for rest of sane world it isn't.[/quote'] :two_thumbs_up:
CSK Fan Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Dhoni coming at 4-5 would have surely been great but as always he backs himself and his players. If Dhoni makes a strategy and it works, would you praise Dhoni or only the players?
littlemaster1982 Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 He backed himself to get even 60-70 from last 5 like he always does Err, how many times have you seen 60-70 runs being scored in the last 5 overs while chasing, in a final? but he just couldn't get any support whatsoever from other end, infact the batsmen at the other end were ruining the cause. When he comes so down the order, he cannot expect any support from the tailenders. It might not be best knock, but it is definitely not a choke. Good that you have came down from your earlier statement :winky:
Old guy Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 And that strategy failed. So who is to blame' date=' only the players? If Dhoni makes a strategy and it works, would you praise Dhoni or only the players?[/quote'] haters:giggle: ok seriously who is to blame for him backing wrong players? him not being able to hit malinga him not being able to trust himself enough to play off johnson.?
Sidhoni Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 And that strategy failed. So who is to blame' date=' only the players? If Dhoni makes a strategy and it works, would you praise Dhoni or only the players?[/quote'] Yes that strategy failed. He backed Jaddu-Bravo and it didn't come off. Dhoni is definitely to be blamed for not coming in earlier but still the bigger blame is for players who played very ordinary shots to get out.
Old guy Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Good that you have came down from your earlier statement :winky: For me it is' date=' for you it isn't.[/quote'] :giggle:
Sidhoni Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Err' date=' how many times have you seen 60-70 runs being scored in the last 5 overs [b']while chasing, in a final? When he comes so down the order, he cannot expect any support from the tailenders. Good that you have came down from your earlier statement :winky: We didn't see a team going to 227 from 29-5 earlier, did we? :winky: Pressure doesn't affect Dhoni one bit. But Morkel, Morris and Ashwin can all bat. It was for those who didn't believe it was the best.
