So they will need infrastructure. So they will build roads, residential and commercial buildings, cinema halls and everything. straighttalk Posted May 2, 2013 Author Posted May 2, 2013 apparently if that area is not vacated...indian soldier have to take an extremely roundabaout route to set up defendable positions... that area is critical to protect Siachen and also keep an eye on the pakistan india china trisection... at the very least the trips should be cancelled and the chineese ambassador should be evicted...a strong diplomatic message should be sent...

PriyankaSR Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 This is going to be a major challenge for this Government. Before blaming Congress for this, we need to understand the predicament we are in. A major display of force could easily escalate into a war or worse a matter of prestige for China. Right now diplomacy seems to be the best course of action as this would allow China to move back without much loss of face to its domestic audience. Come winter, anyhow it would be difficult for them to stay there. If things get worse, then obviously we need to be prepared for any contingencies. The level this issue has now reached to, cannot be simply resolved by negotiation. But we can't simply go and surround them and ask them to leave, the reason being our poor Defense system. We CANNOT match Chinese weapons or strategies. The solution is to invest more money into the defense system and improve it.
