Sachinism Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 West Indies Champions Trophy squad: Dwayne Bravo (Captain), Denesh Ramdin (VC/wkt), Tino Best, Darren Bravo, Johnson Charles, Chris Gayle, Jason Holder, Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach, Darren Sammy, Marlon Samuels, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Devon Smith. Absolutely absurd.
Junyfan Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Interesting.Sammy was decent leader for mediocre Windies team.
yoda Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Sammy paid the price for doing well against CSK. :hahaha: For those looking for facts: West Indies have won 19 and lost 30 ODIs under Sammy, who first captained them in April 2010. Sammy averages 21 with the bat and 42 with the ball in the format. http://www.espncricinfo.com/icc-champions-trophy-2013/content/story/634071.html
Chalks Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 :WTF: Sammy might be a good, ordinary cricketer at best, but probably been the best captain they've had since, I dunno, maybe Carl Hooper?
vvvslaxman Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 :WTF: Sammy might be a good, ordinary cricketer at best, but probably been the best captain they've had since, I dunno, maybe Carl Hooper? can he dance as well as Bravo :yay:
yoda Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 :WTF: Sammy might be a good, ordinary cricketer at best, but probably been the best captain they've had since, I dunno, maybe Carl Hooper? His ODI captaincy results have been less than stellar. 19 won and 30 lost. wtf!.
Crookbond Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Sammy will continue to lead Tests and T20. West Indies (if I'm not wrong) have won just 3 ODI series under Sammy's helm and most of those are against Bangladesh/Zimbabwe.
Sidhoni Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 India Cements :omg: Srini getting his way with West indies too? Srini Mama :two_thumbs_up: :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
King Khan Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Good for Sammy. Now he can concentrate properly on IPL like Watto :winky:
philcric Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I think one of the reasons was that they have many similar kind of medium pace - hard hitting all rounders like Bravo, Sammy, Pollard, Andre Russell, Dwayne Smith. Bravo probably being the best of the lot. If Sammy is captain, they are kind of stuck, and inevitably can't get the balance of the team right. If Bravo is the captain (he can bat in the top 5), they can pick 2 of the others who are in good form at that moment.
