They did not resort to bowling a wide or a no-ball when only one run was needed to win and Sibanda batting at the other end was on 99 not out. Sehwag didn't prioritize personal record in this case. He didn't compromise the team cause in any way. This was about Sri Lankan players behaving childishly. Even kids don't do things like that actually. What's worse, it wasn't just the bowler acting by himself.... it was the captain, vice-captain and bowler all conspiring to deny Sehwag a well deserved hundred.

This is a case of deliberate under performance - a batsman not walking on a nick is a case of evening things out.

Batsman not walking is in interest of his teams victory. What Lankans did was downright sad, they intentionally lost the game, even though it was inevitable, just so that Sehwag does not get his 100. SAD.

I'm pretty sure Sehwag might have benefited from a poor umpiring decision during that innings. Most teams are sick of being at the receiving end of poor umpiring decisions when they play against India. So SL players thought he didn't deserve that hundred :agree:

In that series there was some p!ss poor umpiring by no other than sharamsena. SL benefited hugely from that.
