PriyankaSR Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Sources in the know of the developments indicate that the BCCI is not happy with the noise being made over Sivaramakrishnan's election to the ICC's Cricket Committee ahead of Tim May, the chief executive officer of FICA. There is a feeling that the whole issue could have been handled better by the ICC top brass, particularly its president Alan Isaac and CEO Dave Richardson. The ICC, in a statement on Thursday, stated that it might consider ordering an inquiry into the matter but the BCCI apparently will not be too happy if the whole affair were to be referred to the Ethics Officer. In that context it is indicated that it might pull out of the Champions Trophy http://www.mumbaimirror.com/sports/cricket/BCCI-may-pull-out-of-Champions-Trophy-if--/articleshow/19997778.cms :cantstop::cantstop:
carnish Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 They won't do it. Cause it will give ICC a good reason to Malign the Indian Board and rule them out of Cricket like IOA ruled out Indian Boxing Federation. But then again, does ICC have a backbone?? I guess not.
PriyankaSR Posted May 11, 2013 Author Posted May 11, 2013 They can't rule'em out. BCCI is too powerful for that.
carnish Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 They can't rule'em out. BCCI is too powerful for that. Just because others don't have a spine. They can declare BCCI as illegal board and ask Indian Government to make another official board to handle cricket affairs in India. Just like FIH did with IHF.

I'm not saying Ban India ... Ban BCCI ... Ask a different private enterprise to run cricket in India. Indians will watch any team which plays in Champions Trophy and WC even if they don't have the stars. And in 2-3 years, the stars will also run out of their contracts with BCCI and will be free agents again, hence being able to represent India again.

JaFanatic Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 avoid internationals for 2 yrs and play IPL(with some changes to spice it up) twice a year B->
saneindian Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Waise bhi jaane ka koi fayda nahin hain. Players will get much needed rest after a hectic IPL and also the eligible ones will get sometime to prepare for the CLT20
Crookbond Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 According to ICC rules, they do not meddle in intra country affairs. Unless there's another body which comes from India, ICC can't do anything. Even if another body comes up it will be muscled down by the BCCI like it happened with ICL.

Case in point If ICC would de-recognise BCCI and at the same time Zee group comes up with ICL again and applies to ICC, it can be a different scenario. Although then ICL will have to start from the grass route again, with different regional boards and academies and grounds.

hhunaeh Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 icc will derecognize bcci and indians will back it, when un removes the us govt with the support of the american public

This is the order of events I'm talking about. 1. ICC derecognises BCCI 2. ICC asks GOI to form a new board for Cricket in India. 3.Zee Group restarts ICL and applies for operating permit from ICC and GOI. 4. ICC gladly accepts, not sure about GOI though cause many ministers with BCCI. :nervous:
