I love that music & voice.. Even without knowing the lyrics, it shows how wonderful a language is to hear.. I just don't like the hinglish lyrics they overload now a days.. the older ones are way better.. Same applies to most other regional songs too.. Lyrics are absurd.. Even in the west.. Reminds me of this meme,
I6MTW Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Ok I am rating the best soundtracks by year 1990-present 1990: Sailaab( because of Humko Aaj Kal Hai), Aashiqui(easily one of the best all time). 1991: Saajan(so many hit songs, one of them Dekha hai pehli baar) 1992: Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke(1992 was not a music year by any strech of the word but this film provided some decent songs) 1993: Khalnayak, JJWS tie( both had good chartbusters in both and are still popular to this day) 1994: Darr, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun(need I say about this). 1995: DDLJ(need I say about this one) 1996: Maachis(the punjabi folk music and the punjabi raaga influence in this film is very hight which is why it is a hit) 1997: DTPH, KKHH( both are of course are gayrukh movies but the music by Jatin-Lalit is melodious) 1998: Dil Se(again need I say about this one) 1999: Taal( same with this) 2000: HDDCS( easily the best album of 2000 and an excellent way to start the millennium one of Ismail Darbar's finest. 2001: Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai( personally this is one of my favourite, the two best songs in this film is Ek Pal Ka Jeena and Na tum jano na hum. Chand Sitaare is another melodious number, The title song is also catchy.), and K3G(this was composed by a trio of musicians and has so many wonderful songs), Lagaan(one of AR Rahman's finest compilations. Radha kaise na jale is the chartbuster in this film.) 2002: Dil Chahta Hai(this marks the entrance of contemporary music in Indian films.) 2003: Devdas( Another one of Ismail Darbar's finest) 2004: Main Hoon Na, Veer-Zaara 2005: Parineeta 2006: Rang De Basanti 2007: Om Shanti Om(this marks the starting year where music starts to go downhill) 2008:all albums were horrible this year except for Jodhaa Akbar. 2009:same as above but 3 Idiots and My Name is Khan had at least some good songs 2010: Dabangg 2011: Rockstar 2012:SOFTY, Barfi
