The judgement was pronounced by the Chennai High Court when a group was caught on betting in a game of 'Rummy'. The court ruled 'Rummy' is a game of skill and not a game of chance like Teen Patti. Hence betting on a game of skill is not illegal. Kapil Sibal the Law Minister is gonna change the Law while his son works as a lawyer for BCCI :two_thumbs_up: So our Law Minister has conveniently omitted IPL and domestic leagues from the ambit of this law ..... :hysterical: So even with the new law in place these ppl cant be convicted..... :((

A country with per capita income of about $100/month cannot afford to have hard earned money lost due to addiction. Then why dont ban alcohol and tobacco? Biggest enemy it takes health as well as money of people in India.

So, If they cant be convicted RR and CSK cant be banned. Technically! But if you bring Morality into the equation, then all of them should go. Honorary or Not!!

So as per your argument you are bringing Morality into it. But as per Indian Law, there is no exclusive law for betting that is the reason why these men charged for betting are tried under the 'GAMBLING ACT'. So, if they are caught betting on a game of 'SKILL' rather than a game of 'CHANCE'. Technically, they are not GAMBLING.

I was just trying to prove the point that if the COURT has deemed the game of RUMMY (a card game) as a 'GAME OF SKILL' in its judgement. Do you think the Police have any chances of proving Cricket is NOT a 'GAME OF SKILL'?? So all this SHOR in media is over nothing.....
