G_B_
5:30 pm: Chandila had approached two more players to be part of betting racket? Cricketer Ajit Chandila had approached two more Indian Premier League (IPL) players to be part of the spot fixing after bookies asked him to rope in more people, police sources told IANS. “During questioning, Chandila told police that he met bookies at Country Club in Manesar (adjoining Delhi) on April 6. In the meeting, the bookies asked him to rope in more players for spot fixing. He gave two names and the bookies asked him to bring them to a party where the deal could be discussed,” police sources told IANS. However, the two cricketers refused to be attend the party. Then Chandila contacted Ankeet Chavan to be part of the deal. Chavan agreed to it. According to sources, the bookies – Chandresh Patel, Maman and Amit Singh – had decided to spot fix the IPL matches a month before they were to begin in April. (IANS) So, Bookies ask Chandila to rope more players, most likely regulars in the side to meet with them He approaches Rahane and Hodge to goto this "party" Both refuse to go Chandila ropes in Ankit Chavan to goto the party. It sort of explains why Chandila is now trying to fix and screw over both Hodge and Rahane. Cause they basically said **** you to his face. Link to comment
G_B_
Ankit Chavan is a moran. The biggest moran ever. Link to comment
G_B_
But it makes sense, Chandalia and Chavan are not regulars in the RR side. Rahane and Hodge are regulars. With them also on board Chandila would have been able to fix actual matches as well as spot fix. But as they both said no. He got Chavan on board as Chavan usually replaced Chandila and vice versa. So the role of leading spinner in the first 6 would always goto a compromised player. In a way Rahane should have gone to that party. I am pretty confident that he would have blown the lid on this. You look at RR videos and he is always sat next to Dravid. Link to comment
asterix
Hold on a minute... If Chandila had approached Rahane & Hodge and they refused, I hope the'd informed RR management about Chandila's offer... If not then they could be questioned by Police.. If yes then RR management could be questioned by Police (as why didn't they suspended Chandila and/or Informed IPL governing body)... Link to comment
StriKe
5:35 pm: Tamil Nadu raids had nothing to do with match fixing but with fake bookies The raids at 13 places and arrest of six people in Tamil Nadu are not directly connected to the arrests in Delhi or the arrests of the cricketers in Mumbai. It was based on the complaints of cheating by some people to the Chennai police – people who had placed bets with the local bookies. However, they were cheated out of the money and aggrieved they went to police, reports stated. So police doing raids now...Even i knew where this betting occurs in chennai. Link to comment
