novpj Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Assume we are playing 4 bowlers and have to pick 3 fast bowlers. Who would you pick from these 4: Zaheer, RPS, IP, Sreesanth I am leaning toward ZK RPS and IP from a consistency perspective but all 3 are left handers. Will we have to drop RPS???
coffee_rules Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 No Santh in ODIs.He was dropped for England ODIs. He is truly not a ODI bowler.
Ram Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 No-Brainer. RPS , Zaheer and Irfan. Sreesanth is NOT an one-day bowler and never will be. If he wins a match for us , he will lose the next three. And i dont understand what is this aversion with playing 3 lefties. For years together , India played an all-right bowling attack. Did anybody complain then ? Lefties rule cricket ! :two_thumbs_up:
novpj Posted September 27, 2007 Author Posted September 27, 2007 While I agree that ZK, IP, RPS makes most sense - should we not place an importance on how SS did against Australia or that he brings aggression to the team?
dial_100 Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 I would play sree...anytime...he brings in that extra bit.....He is wayward at times but if he is not bowling wayward, he is superb..I think, he and Uthhupa need little prep-talk by some cool guy. I think Dhoni handled him lot better than Dravid did... I would sit RPS, IP in alternate matches..and PLay SS in all the games
zubinpepsi Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 I would play sree...anytime...he brings in that extra bit.....He is wayward at times but if he is not bowling wayward, he is superb..I think, he and Uthhupa need little prep-talk by some cool guy. RPS is the form bowler.. and he is consistenly taking wkts.. why wud u want him to sit in the bench while playing sree who can be a hit r miss case...
dial_100 Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Yes I am not saying, sit RPS all together I am saying rotate RPS and IP.
Ram Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 If anybody is going to be rotated , it will be Sreesanth and it will be more out of force than choice. I have been crying my throat hoarse - That guy is NOT an one-day bowler.
kabira Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 if IP plays we have to go with 5 bowlers.. SS Zaheer IP Powar Chawla if pitch is not spinner friendly..drop Powar and go with RPS
Chaos Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 we cant have 3 same length bowlers, so we night ONE right arm fast bowler. So it mixes nice in to variation
bigdhoni7 Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 lets keep the mind games going and sit him out the first odi. the aussies probably thinking that sree is going to play based on his comments yesterday. since the second odi is played in kochi, it would be the ideal game to bring him in and wreak havok!
Dravid Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 i like sree's attitude..+ his confidence should be up from last time.. i would prob include em all...and play with 5 bowlers...pathan @ 7 sounds MUCHHH better then aggy @7
Donny Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Sree - first selected. End of story. :two_thumbs_up:
MundaPakistani Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 Why? Why drop either one of them? Play all 4 of them plus Chawla.
Tondulkar Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 From the first ODI I noticed one thing. When conditions don't suite seam bowling-RP is rendered useless. We'll have to see more games tho to really find out.
parasarora1310 Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 zaheer, IP and sreeshant i will go wid sreeshant coz we need somebody to do sledging and show great enthusiasm in the field.
