They went from being borrowers of the world bank to being the lenders. They got a lot of help from America, they let their gratitude be known.

Everything seems to be a competition for them.

Everything seems to be a competition for them. true. the Korean Postdoc at the lab where i work is so into his work that he wont even talk to anyone else at all in the lab. everything is high pressure.
