Precambrian Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Dumb idea being repeated. The tour is for the team not for BCCI to test out the bench. We also have trouble regrouping after the team gets sliced and chopped like this. Did it on the tour of West Indies and then the "Real Team" got back together for the England and Australia tours. Treat this as an A tour instead of a proper tour. As to slicing and dicing, didn't we just cone from 2 month long ipl?
Prakat Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 ^ I'm talking about the same team losing half its players for the duration of a tour and then coming back to normal roll call after that. Somehow changes the team dynamic for the worse. It's like they have to relearn to work as the same team together again. Not "as a team" but "as the same team", there is a distinct loss in continuity as we are unable to pick up things from where we left them as a team.

fineleg Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Rest all main players and try out bench strength. Should have done that for Borefest Triseries Ind, SL, WI as well.
