It is strictly a boxing term though. D & W. Ducking and Weaving.. mainly dodging. Yes i meant swaying out of the line.

Sehwag didn't have any problems with short balls unless it was bowled at his face or at top of his shoulders. He had problems with well-directed short balls which seriously' date=' most players in the world have.[/quote'] :agree: seen kohli pulling the ball coming towards his face ..

They did use short stuffs against Viru and get reasonable success against Viru during 2007 tour. They had a short square leg IIRC for him. He did get out couple of times there. 2.2 85.4 mph, And he is gone now. What a moment this. He was dropped by Huss last over but he is gone now. It kicked up from short of length and curved away from the off-stump line. Sehwag opened the bat-face and tried to steer it past gully. The ball flew to right of Paine who lunges to his right to take a very good catch. The game splits wide open. 17/1 8.2 75.5 mph, Sehwag has holed out to deep square-leg! It was the slower bouncer and Sehwag, who was hit on the helmet in the previous delivery, went for the big pull shot. And he couldn't clear the deep square-leg fielder. Hilfenhaus roars! India have lost Sehwag. 37/1 19.3 89.5 mph, Johnson has nipped out Sehwag who has looked loose in the last few minutes. Huge wicket this. Short ball angling across from leg to off, Sehwag looks to work it to the leg side and gets a leading edge that lobs up into the covers for a simple catch. 11.5 83.4 mph, The Australians explode in joy. They all get into a celebratory huddle. It was banged in short again but this one was chest-high and around the off stump. Sehwag just opened the bat-face and guided it softly to gully! He usually upper cuts them but has been circumspect today. And he is gone now. What a moment this. Tendulkar stands alone in the middle. They worked him over with short stuffs in that series.. But overall he is not that bad. He found ways to handle them.. He would take it on the helmet or shoulders whatever. he had the temperament to do that. Only in that series his mind got messed up due to short stuffs. He is blessed with incredible hand eye coordination which helped him a bit against most of the short stuffs. As long as you don't fend the ball you should be okay. Even that cannot be done by every time . Remember how Kallis fended against sreesanth. Dravid misjudged the pace and got hit by Shadat's 128 kph bouncer.
