ODIs are boring

After my initial scepticism towards T20, the thrilling matches in the WC changed my perception and now after watching this ODI (admittedly our team sucked, but I am sure that's not the reason), I think we should have only one format and that should be T20. Of course, test cricket for me is still the best and untouchable but what ODIs are meant to do T20 does much better, more so with the recent proclivity to make ODIs more and more batsmen friendly with flat pitches, short boundaries, and asinine rules. T20 offers all that with much more excitement.

Lol no. T20s are alright, but its no ODI's. You can barley build an innings or recover from a position like 90-4 like Australia were today. The bowlers don't have to bowl good deliveries to get wickets. Most wickets end up being holed down to the outfield. Not no way, not no how.

Test will definitely remain GODLY, but the T20 WC was so good that some of my baseball friends were also interested!!!

But its better for the joe who doesn't have 5 days to watch cricket-but still wants a quality display. Not just slogging. I don't mind it replacing the Champs trophy, though. Maybe why people (especially Indian/Pakistani fans) are liking T20 better because we actually won it, and got KO'd 1st round in the 50 over WC. Just my thoughts.. Say we beat Australia in this series. You'll all be back :D

OK, one sunday I was watching a 20/20 world cup match (I think it was between Aus and BD, but can't remember). I changed the channel and there was a 40 overs a side one dayer being played between Northants and Essex, featuring Monty, Alister Cook, and others. The 40 overs game looked so boring in comparison, and this is coming from someone who values Test cricket as the greatest form of the game...

Just he kind of "circus" like play of T20's is the thing I do not like.

But i'm sure that in the future the 50 over game will change. The par score will be 300. 400 will be equivilent to 300. People will get much better at T20's in terms of keeping wickets in tact and will use the same ploy in ODI's-to greater effect. AKA instead of being 218/8 in twenty overs in a T20, they would be 230/3 in 25, and will continue to make HUGE scores.

yes 7 ODI series too long...ODIs are very monotonous....9/10 end up one sided and we had 8 out of 10 t20 games really nail biting... I only watched 10 overs of Aussie innings and was busy with my day today life. I would have been glued to the tv if this was test match.... One reason I got turned off watching ODI today was $hitty coverage/commentery on DD... ODIs need major overhauling....may be 2 innings of 25 overs each could be really exciting....it will remove toss factor from the game.

The games are done and dusted in about 3-4 hours. ODIs are boring as. I'm not going to watch a single ODI completely in the current series.

T20 offers all that with much more excitement.[/quote'] exactly!!.. i was doubting 20/20 format but now that we have won the cup.. it changes the perception.. 20/20 has everything that 50/50 offers.... plus, 20/20 gets gets rid of those 20-25 boring middle overs.. but my question to myself and others is.. would it be the same if we had exited World Cup before semis.... ?? For me, I have seen only one cup game.. and that was against Aus.. which was just freaking UNBELIEVABLE game.. from start to end..

When paki's loose ODI's / 20/20 that format sucks. When they loose Test series, tests sucks too. They should stick with Hide and Loose game. shwetabh, >> :hysterical:
