Symonds was the best lower order hitter I have seen. His timing was never that good, but he had brutal power. To think in his time 35 overs ball change rule was not there, he has to be there in the top ODI cricketers of all time, with his handy bowling and excellent fielding.

^ That innings was a classic! The look on the face of Paki phhaasht boiilers was priceless, it only got better a few days later when Tendulkar let go on them. My favorite Yuvraj innings is the 130 odd he made in the '04 CB series. Was absolutely brutal in that innings and was at the top of his batting game. Laxman also made a hundred in the match, but India lost on DL, though I felt if the game had gone the full distance India would have won. Though Yuvraj was the Man of the Tournament in WC '11, from a batting perspective only I feel his peak was a few years earlier. Unfortunately, I don't think he will be able to recover to the extent of becoming a dominating ODI batsman again, but in conjunction with his bowling can have a part to play in the next WC. oh so, you missed out on anderson's 4/25 then...:--D nah, yuvi won't make the next world cup. i think his knees are dead, the guy probably spent the best part of 3 years wearing a brace on one of them. and if yuvi can't bat like he used to, then he isn't worth selecting anyway since he is a maddeningly inconsistent player in between those big knocks. we dont need his bowling because apparently jadeja is a good bowler now (im still coming to terms with this...and everything else he is doing, lol) and we have ashwin/rasool as a specialist spinner to complete a pretty efficient bowling attack. i'd rather india have pujara at 4. rohit, shikhar, kohli, pujara, raina, dhoni. that could be one of the all time great batting lineups if they click. pujara is the best batsman in india and has to find a place in the middle order. yuvi is definitely huge in t20 though, most of india's big wins in t20 have had some contribution from him - as recently as in that match against PAK at ahmedabad last winter, when he smoked them all over the place. he should keep playing t20s, might be india's only hope of bringing that trophy back... anyway, i just realised i ahve successfully derailed this thread. nice chatting, will see you guys later.

Hussey is a more versatile batsman as far as the ability to succeed against tougher attacks and conditions. Dhoni is more explosive on flatter pitches than Hussey can be. I rate the first quality higher than the second.

Dhoni averaged 70 in CB series in Aus, averaged 51 in CB series in 2012, highest run getter in England ODI series 2011.
