I See shami as a test prospect out of the lot.Odi performances should not be given much importance even bhuvi has struggled in tests.

Even Shami will struggle in tests on Indian pitches. BK and Mohit both can be very successful in SA as they are more accurate and consistent and can move the ball both ways. Shami still needs to bring that consistency in his bowling.

Mohit looks a real find, he needs to move up the pecking order in ODI Selectors are going to keep their faith with Ishant and Yadav but one of the them is likely to lose their place soon.

I AGREE Shammi is a better bet then, BK, MS, in test's, Shammi is faster has a good bouncer and gets more swing then any other bowler here, also has the ability to bowl magical deliveries, MS is better then VK, TEST'S LINEUP should be Umesh, BK, Aaron, Shammi, Suyal, Ishant, Pankaj, in that order, ODI SHOULD BE BK, Aaron, Shammi, Mohit, Suyal. Mohit and BK ARE VERY SIMILR BOWLERS, similar pace and height, lineup should have some variety, with pace, swing and seam.

Mohit and BK ARE VERY SIMILAR BOWLERS' date=' similar pace and height, lineup should have some variety, with pace, swing and seam.[/quote'] BK is a swing bowler whereas Mohit is primarily a seam bowler à la Mcgrath, Philander or Asif. I agree we need variety in our test attack - we need a left-armer to replace Zaheer after he retires. Selectors should have tried someone like Suyal on the A tour to see if he is test class.

Bhuvi - Yadav will bowl the opening spell and Mohit - Yadav will bowl at the death It will actually be a pretty good combo in ODI Shami will do better in Test than ODI but will he get a chance to prove it?

Yadav has shown serious issues with his control.

He's a much better Test bowler right now but with a bit more control he can be a pretty effective ODI bowler. He's better than Ishant

I really hope they allow Bhuvi to bowl at the death, he has awesome control and will be good

Every Fast bowler finds in hard in india,But those who show the spark on dead wickets are the ones to back. You pick players for all conditions its unfair if a bowler is made to bowl on dustbowls and another bowler is given good conditions to bowl.If u see a bowler has talent play him home or away.In india currently Ishant,Yadav are the two seam options and away bhuvi, ishant, yadav. If we go by test performance ishant should not be there and i would get shami and then mohit.

and that is where Shami has not done well even in Ranji trophy. He struggles whenever flat tracks come in.

U did not get the meaning of my sentence.

I understand but it does not work for Indian bowlers. Look at Ishant, his away record is horrible in Aus, England and SA while his home record has been far better. If I chose bowling combo then BK, Yadav, and Mohit will be my three front line pacer in SA. Ishant and Shami/Unadkat as backup

Unadkat proved to be the best among the lot, and the only pacer in this tournament which looks up to the international standard...Got the ball to shape back into the right-handers with decent pace and got good bounce too..And added to it he is only 21, so one an expect him to gain more pace in due course of time..Definitely a good prospect in ODIs , miles ahead than ishant when it comes to accuracy..

Unadkat- good pace bounce and accuracy defiantly can get into the main XI ahead of Ishant as the 3rd bowing option. Shami- fast and has a good outswinger probably a better new ball option than yadav. vinny- bowls shortish with no real pace or movement, not much bounce buts seems like a containing type of bowler. Not a great back up for Kumar. Mohit- seen little of him but he too seems like more of a containing type of bowler tbh. Doesn't bowl the attacking length that bhuvi does. Indias back up options looks decent but they need to find another bowler that can consistently take wickets with the new ball. Maybe kaul or sandeep sharma. Even if they can only bowl with the new ball.

Unadkat to my surprise was accurate and seems to have worked on his action. Got bounce and decent pace now, moved the ball and was aggressive, Shami looked good and can bowl better, Mohit has no pace but accurate and VK as always mediocre.
