Hafeez Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 like avishkar salvi was our Mcgrath. like Pathan was Wasim akram
sekhar Posted July 15, 2013 Author Posted July 15, 2013 Ok bring him in International team i think he is better than Undkat atleast I Seen Undkat bowling in South africa pace Un-130 (can not swing both ways) The fact is that the video that i have posted was about his performancce in the second innings..It should be noted he bowled a lot of overs in the first innings as the other bowlers are just not upto the mark...It affect his pace in the second innings..Just go to this link and read the commentary of CI about his bowling in 1st innings..he was bowling around 135-142, bowl some terrific yorkers at 140+ http://www.espncricinfo.com/indian-domestic-2012/engine/match/574134.html
sekhar Posted July 15, 2013 Author Posted July 15, 2013 like avishkar salvi was our Mcgrath. you all are going to eat your words..Just wait n watch for his performance in the A tour to SA
G_B_ Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 I personally would not have selected him for the SA A tour. He has played one ranji season in which he has been great. Maybe we should reserve our judgement after he plays 2 more ranji seasons. Look at Bhuvi, had 3-4 ranji seasons under his belt before we selected him.
G_B_ Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 also why do i get a feeling that sekhar is somebody related/friend of sid kaul and is hell bent on pushing him on this forum?
sekhar Posted July 15, 2013 Author Posted July 15, 2013 In that match unadkat also got 5/86 Unadkat got some fluke wkts in that match like Ishant got in CT :giggle: ...what he did is just angle the ball away from all the right-handed batsman..punjab needed an outright win to qualify for the final, and it was increasingly difficult for them to target saurastra's spinners on a turner..so they had no chance but to go for those wide deliveries and in return got out....comparing unadkat with kaul in that match is just comparing Ishant's performance in CT to that of Bhuvi, both got wickets but we all know who bowled better :winky:
cowboysfan Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 I think Kaul is a great prospect who has a chance to be better than bhuvi.
sekhar Posted July 15, 2013 Author Posted July 15, 2013 also why do i get a feeling that sekhar is somebody related/friend of sid kaul and is hell bent on pushing him on this forum? NO GB you misunderstood me, i have nothing to do with sid kaul..If I have to hype a player I would have easily choosen suryakant pradhan the left arm medium bowler from our home town, who got a 7-fer in his debut list A match against jharkhand this year..I am not literally comparing kaul with Jimmy....ofcourse jimmy is proven world class bowler who is light-years ahead of from someone like Kaul...But what my point is the current crop of young bowlers like bhuvi, Ishwar pandey, shammi ahmed are fantastic with new ball only and this guy kaul can be effective with the old ball..He had skills, age, pace but just need some guidance n opportunities...
sekhar Posted July 15, 2013 Author Posted July 15, 2013 Classical trundler :(( Trundler?? how??? oh please don't follow these domestic speed guns..
nsareen Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Trundler?? how??? oh please don't follow these domestic speed guns.. he had touched 140 on the domestic speed guns. 140+ in IPL matches. Is a nippy bowler, but with the movement he can use this kind of pace to his advantage. My only concern is the height of the upcoming bowlers. Bhuvi , Sid, Umesh , Aaron, Suyal , Kulkarni. None of them are tall ( .6.1 , 6.2 and above). I feel height is a significant advantage to have along with the other attributes.

But you'd expect the fast bowlers to be a little more stouter and taller. Ideally they should be lasting an entire test series without losing steam. Stamina. There are some good pacers coming out of our domestic setup like Bhuvanesh, Sandeep Sharma, Kaul., but none of them 'look' like fast bowlers! Maybe the likes of Sehwag, Yuvraj give some tips to these guys on how to become fat :giggle:

VRV, Munaf, Sreesanth, Ishant, Mithun, Balalee, Nehra, not to forget Shib Shankar Paul , Ranadeb Bose - plenty of 6 ft+ pacers, height was of no advantage for them
