skindia Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 I think his test game will be affetcted by odi like vijay.. ur views?
G_B_ Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 that is one fear i have. But Che does have a good list A record. So might not be the case. India does badly need a solid batsman in the middle who can make it count on tough pitches.
skindia Posted July 22, 2013 Author Posted July 22, 2013 There are many odi players waiting in queue..I think he should be preserved for tests..
skindia Posted July 22, 2013 Author Posted July 22, 2013 In odi only batting is not enough...u need to be more fit for international odis..players are getting injuryprone...
Sachin=GOD Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 @Mods - plz create one "Skindia" thread where he can post all his random thoughts instead of creating one new useless thread everyday.
skindia Posted July 22, 2013 Author Posted July 22, 2013 this is not useless thread...u r sachin fan thats why u hate robin fan..
skindia Posted July 22, 2013 Author Posted July 22, 2013 and u 'll agree with my views once pujara fails in SA..thats why he should play only tests
JaFanatic Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 we need him he'll strengthen our batting further. its rubbish to say his test batting will go down there is a reason why he averages 60 in First class and 57 in List A matches
skindia Posted July 22, 2013 Author Posted July 22, 2013 international odi schedule is hectic thats the main reason..
skindia Posted July 22, 2013 Author Posted July 22, 2013 btw my favourite player is pujara for tests and robin for odi...if u think I hate pujara..:winky:
saneindian Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 His batting may not be affected but his fitness will be tested. He struggled with a bad knee throughout the Aus series and given the history of injuries, both his running between the wickets and fielding outside the ring will be a concern. Runs to he will score even on one leg with all that ability. Praying he is a good slip fielder so that Kohli can keep him there most of the times.

I am no expert, but surely crouching for nearly every delivery (which a slip fielder has to do especially to spinners) is more detrimental than say being at some place where the ball rarely goes in the field. Michael Vaughan had the same issues with his knee. He usually fielded at mid off. I felt very sorry for che fielding at silly point and bat pad. Felt sorry for him.
adi B Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 donno about pujara but utthappa is not needed in any format :winky:
bulbul Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 btw my favourite player is pujara for tests and robin for odi...if u think I hate pujara..:winky: You hate Robin in tests & hate Pujara in ODI :hmmmm2:

Pujara should not be fielding at short leg but they make him field there all the time. If he's not there, then he's not allowed to take off his pads and runs around with those shin pads on. Che chasing balls in the outfield with his shin pads was a common sight in Eng and Aus tests, never ever seen such scenes anywhere else. Talking of Vaughan, maybe Che can start learning his cha cha cha or rock n roll to fix his knee problem. :--D

Sidhoni Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Don't really need him but he deserves his place on basis of his list A record.
Cricashfaq Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 He needs to be tested and he is starting off in a overseas condition. So, it will be a challenge just like Dhawan. He was tested in Champions Trophy as it was a foreign pitch and he succeeded and secured a place. Hope, Pujara will be the same as his LIST A record is very promising
b555 Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 You hate Robin in tests & hate Pujara in ODI :hmmmm2: who is this robin?
