Bleed-Blue Posted August 7, 2013 Author Posted August 7, 2013 Cricketing ties between India and Pakistan are set to hit another roadblock following the killing of five Indian jawans in Poonch on Tuesday. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to keep on hold the visa process of players from the Faisalabad Wolves, who were scheduled to participate in the Champions League T20 next month. The Wolves, the only Pakistan team in the event, were set to compete in the qualifying round with the objective of making the main draw. They were slated to open the tournament against the Otago Volts of New Zealand at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi Stadium on September 17. However, that looks unlikely now. “The Board was set to start the visa process for the teams, but are now keeping on hold the process involving the Pakistan team as of now after Tuesday’s attacks,” a source told HT. On July 26, HT had reported on the possible problems that could arise after Wolves qualified. Late last year, Pakistan were in the country to play a set of limited-over games, however, soon after the series, trouble at the border meant cricket relations suffered a blow. Constant problems between the two countries have led to Pakistan players missing out since the first season.
