How do some fast bowlers having limited armory get more wickets than the ones with plenty?

Bowlers like Mcgrath and Steyn keep it plain and simple and just bowl one type of delivery (Mcgrath: off cutter, Steyn: out swinger). Still they pick up more wickets at a better average than the bowlers who have better skill like Wasim Akram and James Anderson as both of them have many varieties of deliveries in their armory. Does it imply that fast bowling is more about accuracy and concentration than pure flair/skill?

Persistent consistency. Especially Anderson was very wayward in his early years and was too injury prone and it took him several years to mature. Bowlers who mature early will have better records over a long career. Anderson certainly has a good record in last 3-4 years than his early 3-4 years. His early 3-4 years have dented his overall record.

It's not about having skills ,it's about making use of it,u don't need banana swing seam to dismiss a batsmen,it's about how you make most of it,waz was more crafty,but he didn't had the nagging line of McGrath ,who combined his line and length along with his height and his cutter,he could bowl leg cutters as well to perfection,Anderson learned things with time,he may have skill,but he relies more on favorable conditions,something u won't see with steyn for that matter and mind u steyn has a beautiful inswinger as well,but he uses outswinger which is his strength much more then in swinger,mind u he can reverse swing as ,plus having pace does help as well,as a matter of fact ,u can divide steyn's spells into three categories .: 1)mid 130's to late 130's ,occasionally clocking early 140's to top order as he wants to concentrate more on line ,length and swing,taking advantage of new ball and early conditions. 2)late 130's to early 140's,occasionally clocking mid 140's to middle order to stop the run scoring and keep things tight ,until it's start reverse swing. 3)early 140's to mid to late 140's,occasionally clocking early 150's to middle order and lower order ,to unleash himself once it's reverses. He attacks stumps a lot more then Aandu ,that helps as well.
