Currently i need $115 to replace the toshiba battery that as of now , has a long-standing life of 10 seconds. It was my unbelievable luck that the battery died spectacularly exactly 2 weeks after the warranty expired. :broken_heart:. I have tried every trick on the book , including kissing my laptop battery every night , in the hope that it atleast lasts as long it takes for me to switch plug-points. Nothing seems to be working though.

Your observation is very correct. There are maid servants in India who I've seen put up with marriage because the husband is the primary breadwinner, and their children and family need the money. Money is a big motivation for the poor and lower middle class to stay in an otherwise doomed marriage. Social factors play a big part too, but that trend is weakening. That is why in the upper middle class and above, where "economical independence" is more common, and money is not that much a big factor, there are more divorces these days in Indian society (compared to years before).
