My fav Indian player in the last decade but i get the sentiment in OP, his career has suddenly come to an end in tests / ODI's and T20's... How i wish he could end it better...

Actually why arnt we talking abt blodding Viru as the 3rd opner in ODIs if Rohit loses form or smthg ? There he certainly dont need as much technique and as Dhawan's opposite no they cud form a diminutive opening pair provided Viru can find some form. For tests certainly he cant open n theres spme young guys also waiting in the wings Jiwanjot etc. But he could play a counterattacking role at no 5 ot 6 in Tests like Gilchrist wud do for Aussie team when their top order has a rare failure.
