Rarely anyone is selected based on IPL. IPL is just a part of the process. Jasprit Bumrah was one of the better bowlers in Mushtaq Ali trophy which Gujarat won and only then he was selected. Performance in domestic cricket is main criteria. IPL is only a second preference. Similar with Yadav and Aaron. Yadav was marked since his Duleep trophy debut match which enabled him to play for DD. Aaron made his mark in Vijay Hazare trophy 2010 by bowling quick which Jharkhand won and a 5-fer in Deodhar trophy after that.

Okay. What about ashwin , mohit Sharma, Rahul Sharma? Ashwin did ok in domestic matches, but I believe his variations and talent was recognized after Ipl. Same with Rahul Sharma and mohit.

Same with Rahul Sharma and mohit.[/quote'] But what is the reason, they were picked by IPL teams, both Ashwin and Mohit were doing well in FC before that and that was reason Mohit even played for India A against England even before playing in IPL. Rahul Sharma did get the limelight through IPL but there are always exceptions but not norms. I can only get two names who were not good in domestics and got selected based on IPL, Gony and Rahul Sharma though even Rahul Sharma was good in List A. Gony really started doing well in FC after that.
