Professional players keep the same level of intensity. Pujara should clearly know his goals for these matches.If it is only to get fit then lower matches are sufficient.Other upcoming players can better use the opportunity provided by A tours When you are continuously facing poor quality bowling at 125K in lower matches and then you suddenly come up to likes of Steyn and Morkel then one can certainly face difficulty of adjusting for some time. Yes but for that 1-2 matches are enough,thats we have warmup matches.Anyway he'll face our Test bowlers in nets before playing the matches. The point is we need to use the opportunity for other players who can benefit much more,not use it as a practice for an established batsman Link to comment

Selectors are strongly considering making him test captain after Dhoni. Maybe thats also a reason for this Link to comment
