Old guy Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 it also has same f/2.2 aperture of iphone 5s yes pixel size of iphone is bigger but its not significantly bigger and when you factor in how many more pixels 1020 has you start to understand just how big the sensor is on this beast its 1.5μ vs 1.12μ then add in that over sampling process and just ability of bigger sensor to get in much more light and better lenses .. and this is just hardware..even in software on phone of camera nothing comes close you have manual mode like nothing else ..
Old guy Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Nokia 1520 sensor is smaller than both xperia and 1020 MP is smaller 41 mega pixels to 20 megapixles Zoom is smaller 3x to 2x Why do you think 1520 camera is better? 1020 is the best from Nokia. Period. who said its better? it will be more mainstream camera with smaller hump on back and also will probably be more battery friendly 1020 is camera focused while this is normal phone with normal camera (which s still gonna be better than competition ) yep low light photo is awesome for a mobile camera. :hatsoff: even the color saturation is nearly perfect.. more realistic pics yep it is just the best damn camera in every way (ofc on smart phone :--D)

vvvslaxman Posted October 24, 2013 Author Posted October 24, 2013 I think they focussed more on other features at the expense of their camera features . I am sure they analyzed market enough before making that decision. Personally i wanted the best of both.

I am looking for something to replace my iphone 4. Second phone is a non-smart phone which i won't change as phone companies force you to take data plans if you own a smart phone. Rightnow i only pay 10$ there as an additional line.

Detonator Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 ppi is almost same.. i am very interested in rumored 929 now that will be phone to beat :nervous: 929 is apparently a variant of 1520, could be released as 1320. 5” AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 Full HD and a 20MP camera. better they price it around 40k :wall: http://www.ubergizmo.com/2013/10/nokia-lumia-929-leaked-apparently-heading-for-verizon/

People even if they don't take data plans they try to use internet since it is a smart phone. When they get charged they come back with complaints about overcharging. So they force you to take data plans. That would be like 25$ minimum. per month. I checked my internet usage other day from my primary phone. I have used only 0.019% of allowed internet usage..I am paying 25$ for this  . If only carriers provide much much cheaper plans (for users who want bare minimum of internet access) i would go for it.

Unlike others, Nokia and MS have a much more potential on improvements. As I said before, they can turn mobiles into mini laptops if Microsoft develops the mobile platform in right areas. Imagine a app platform that can run apk files :P

Crookbond Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 That is a bit of generic statement. You are talking about low quality point to shoot cameras with small sensors. But Nokia 1020 has a large sensor. If you are into cropping big images you will have more room to work with. more pixels are always better for camera with smiliar lens size. In this case Nokia ibeat out all the others in both areas. So they are far superior. It was indeed a generic statement like I have said it earlier. There's an implicit rule in mins to see 8MP>5MP. Again, I'm not commenting on the Nokia 1520 camera. Just making general observations.
Crookbond Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 It can but there is nothing on market which does so what's ur point ? Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk Nothing on the market? There are many 5MP cameras are better than 8MP cameras on the market. In this case, it may not be true.
