express bowling Posted October 22, 2013 Author Posted October 22, 2013 He is again not getting his bowling action right' date=' left hand falling too early in an attempt to bowl outswing, might be trying something else.[/quote'] He seems to change ,what he is doing, too frequently. Not settling to any particular thing. Strange, after 6 years in international cricket.

You cannot become good without practice.

You cannot become good without practice. Most Indian bowlers don't practice much. Losing pace could be partly because of this too. Most top pacers work on how to increase pace or at least maintain it, ours .obviously don't. Compare this with our batsmen. Even at this age Tendulkar practices the most.

express bowling Posted October 22, 2013 Author Posted October 22, 2013 They think they will get injured if they bowl more in the nets. Yeah. That actually explains things. If this mindset does not change then we will always have our pacers losing pace and bowling without control.
King Tendulkar Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Shami bowing 138 to 140 Are we dreaming
express bowling Posted October 23, 2013 Author Posted October 23, 2013 Shami now bowling 137.5 to 142.2 k. Taking wickets. Looking lethal. Everyone talking about what a bit of pace can do to the attack, no matter who the opposition.
King Tendulkar Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 England will not pick a seamer unless bowls 140 plus We cant match those speeds But we must not pick bowlers unless they bowl 135 plus. Ot at least two out of three must bowl 135 plus and maybe one can be a malnourished trundler who makes the ball talk to keep traditionalists of indian cricket happy

Bresnen, Anderson, Tremlett Broad in tests, Bresnen is mostly around 130 to 132 these days. But completely agree that all our pacers must be 135+. or bowl the 130 to 142 k range atleast.

Yes agree 130 to 142 range, with capabilty to bowl 135 plus when needed All the england bowlers you mention do and can bowl some balls up to 140 and some above

And we have seen the results of that today. But still we will see 127 k guys included.

Bresnan has slowed after an elbow injury and since then has been in and out of the team. Remember India tests, he was bowling 140 plus. Broad can crank it up at any time. You do not need to bowl 140 plus all the time, especially in tests. Remember Eng-Aus test series recently, the match where he took a 5-fer. He was bowling within himself and suddenly cranked it up to 91 mph and won them the match from a position where they looked like losing it after a 100 plus first wicket partnership. This match. http://www.espncricinfo.com/the-ashes-2013/engine/match/566935.html

Just that they cannot be termed 140 k + bowlers or out and out fast bowlers which would mean that more often than not they are 140 k +.
King Tendulkar Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Embarrasing we pick Unadkat and vinnay. embarrasing what are selctors thinking, i mean seriously
msb1991 Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 I thought Unadkat may have put on a bit of pace but surely the team management would have seen this is not the case.
express bowling Posted October 23, 2013 Author Posted October 23, 2013 It is difficult to believe that our selectors can't understand that 127 k pacers are not good enough for international cricket. Questions, is why are they picked then !!

rkt.india Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 I will always pick a quick bowler like Yadav, Suyal, Shukla, etc. even if inexperienced over a slow bowler like Vinay unless he has great skills and can swing the ball like BK does. Decent pace can be an asset and requirement at international level.
