Australia built such stadiums (roof could be opened/closed) and there was even a 3 match series they played with Pakistan (and lost) around 2000/01. I even remember some player hitting the roof with a six - I think the rule was that it would be a dead ball.

iirc South Africa and Australia played 3 matches in indoor stadium in Australia. That was probably about few years back. Cost is a huge factor for indoor stadiums. The other negative is that one ball hit the roof , so there can be controversies in world level matches due to such incidents. However, it would be better if the boards like BCCI who can easily afford such roofs build one or two indoor stadiums . A full match is better than reduced or no match at all.

Fletcher needs to give some hypothetical target to Kohli
It doesnt work that way. Very different mindset, so this "hypothetical" thing wont work in reality for VK.

Can you enlighten? What is MLB?
Major league baseball I think it has to do with the height the ball can travel vertically. Unless if they build some weird type of tall canopy, I don't see it happening.

cost is a big issue. Roof costs a lot of money
Definitely not something the cash rich BCCI can't support? Would it? And I don't think spectators would mind paying 25% premium to watch the matches in a cozy stadium would they?

I agree. Cost should not be the issue. Cricket is a fairly lucrative sport.
