The things is he has the pace, bounce and stamina and fairly good record with injuries, so well worth persevering with him compared to the likes of VK who possess none of these and pace is something which cant be dramatically improved with age. also this flaw with bowling short it partly why he cant hack it in ODI's.

Ishant has been largely disappointing since the windies tour where he showed glimpses of spark. He just doesn't seem to be able to bowl anything other than the ocassional in-cutter that also misses the inside edge or stumps.... To top it all off, he has no swing in his kitty right now.... That has been the trouble with our bowling for many many years.... we just haven't had an 'attack'.... it is always just one bowler at his peak and the others are just fillers.

Where was the logic when ishu picked 25+ wickets and got the man of the series award in west indies? Leave the poor kid alone. He bowls his heart out, he is bound to get wickets.

When you bowl short in length, you often seem to be unlucky when you beat the outside edge often (as the ball would've done way too much by the time it reaches the batsman) - so pitch it in the good/full length area instead and they'll sure nick one. And not to mention that LBW's are often not given when you bowl short in such tracks with good bounce.

WI are not minnows.
They are still a low ranked team, just creating few upsets doesn't mean they're class all of a sudden. They are way too inconsistent and are rookies.

Do you mean ishant >>>> gul.
actually he is. ishant has been the driving force in a series win against aus (which pakis haven't done since god knows when) and a series win in indies (which no paki has ever done).

Unfortunately we have been holding on to that hope for way too long. Just kick him out and ask him to ply his trade in FC and learn the art of taking wickets. He is still young isn't he? So a couple of seasons away from Test cricket should not do much harm to his career. He should go back to FC and learn to pick wickets under different match situations.

Ishant has really disappointed on these big tours. He doesn't have much wickets to show against his name. I hope he really turns around his form but chances of which are really slim.
