King Tendulkar Posted November 21, 2013 Author Posted November 21, 2013 Why was this guy plucked from no where to play one test in SA? Why is this guy in the team now and given new ball. Bizzare The guy is rubbish. I would love to be fly on wall of selction meeting and listen to how and why they picked this guy. Just odd It stinks Need kejriwal on the case to investigate this one
express bowling Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Before Dhoni's tenure as captain, we had started to produce decent pacers like Srinath and Zak. In ODIs, Nehra , Agarkar etc. Coming to think of it, most of the cases of pace loss by seamers and gross deterioration of performance after promising starts in career, have been during his captaincy -- Munaf, Sree, RP, Ishant -- all had potential but not one of them developed. Dhoni has not been able to retain a single decent pacer for any length of time.( Zak had already developed. before ).
ThePhenomenal1 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 First Post :) Unadkat is not getting wickets either and his only recent decent match was the one where he and shami came in (4th Odi i think). At least he held one end down. His pace is pathetic, had some hope after he bowled well in Zimbabwe with some pace and zip. It might be the tracks but he should still put in some effort. He would be a good option if he had 10kph more pace because edges would carry and because he goes for accuracy he could attack the stumps well. But right now, he's not a threat. Malnourished is definitely the right word. What is up with the diets? Get some chicken and fish in you, no need to eat beef and go against your religion or whatever. Chicken and fish is perfect, coupled with some good gym work and running. Always interested me how Pakistani fast bowlers know where to pitch the ball and are usually always threatening. Not now because they're getting their backsides handed to them by SA (:hysterical:) but guys like Gul, Amir, Asif, Junaid, and others, they don't just bowl fast but know how to trouble batsmen and take wickets. Something is definitely wrong with our system... :nervous:
King Tendulkar Posted November 21, 2013 Author Posted November 21, 2013 But why are they picking him. All and sundry can see he is rubbish and that he has no raw materials to be good. Why o Why is he being picked??? What do they see in him? Stinks Even BK is 5 mph quicker and moves it all over the place. Actuall BK is not quick but bowls in 80 to 85 mph range, tolerable. This chump is bowling 76mph and then has the frigging cheek to bowl a slower ball
King Tendulkar Posted November 21, 2013 Author Posted November 21, 2013 Some people think they know more than Wasim Akram. Lesson learnt!! Dont trust the enemy:giggle:

What are his stats in domestic cricket? His selection should definitely be investigated, he reminds me of Deep Dasgupta who had similarly come into the the team from nowhere as a Test opener

The myth here is that "line and length" alone will make one,a better bowler.

When he let his mask slip and for 20 seconds went in to seom weird rant about how we have to be honest we will never get fast bowlrs and should focus on accuracy blah blah Seemes to have seom real hate for pace bowlers and love for trundlers, many in india think the same weirdly, including captain and selctors seemingly
Sean Bradley Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Jaidev Jaidev Jaidev Unadkat... Opposition Sukhkarta Dukhharta... Batsmena Chi Kamanapurti... Jaidev Jaidev... :hysterical::hysterical:

I muted it because I don't like listening to him speak. Him and the rest of the BCCI guys are a PAIN.
King Tendulkar Posted November 21, 2013 Author Posted November 21, 2013 Weird his treatment of shami. It was like he hated him and wanted him to fail. Did his best to screw. Brought up back late on, he bowled a great over. Then took him off after that 1 over to replace him by unadkunt WEIRD WEIRD WEIRD 5 SPELLS. NO NEW BALL WEIRD

NO NEW BALL WEIRD I say that Jadeja's introduction into the match changed the course of it, just like in the Champions Trophy enounter. If Dhoni had persisted with Unadkat during the 10th over, West Indies, probably would have made 270-280+. Charles's wicket was huge. Also, Dhoni is a terrible bowlers captain. It's a well known fact that he likes keeping to trundlers.
MCcricket Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Sunny was saying India will never get a express bowler and anyone like the WI bowlers in the past, he some how thinks all of them bowled at 150 k or 170 k which is untrue, Marshall, Garner, Holding, Ambrose were all fast but not express, Aaron, Umesh, Shami, Suyal bowl similar speeds if u compare per Sunny, maybe he also meant body language lol, Patterson was quicker then the WI quicks of Gavaskar era. But he was also effusive in his praise for Shami before he said that and the context he was saying was Shami is not fast or anywhere near WI quicks which is untrue, but he said bowling at 140 and skill to move the ball pitching good areas is good enough to get wickets at this level which Shami does, he was partly right n wrong, but Indians do talk down about their pacers whereas all good teams hype them, Shami is the best thing that happened to Indian cricket for me, pacers like Unadkat, VK and their selections make us a joke in the int arena

When Umesh was new , he was bowling in an ODI -- pace of 140 to 148 k. Gavaskar was saying that Umesh is not fast, just brisk. Sort of sums up his attitude.
MCcricket Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 According to a recent article Dhoni said that he is trying out several pacers and combinations as he is developing pool of pacers for world cup lol, he is destroying them , pool of VK, Unadkunt, Mithun, lol

Their extreme height and steep bounce with accuracy made them threatening. Marshall and Holding were really quick. But so are Yadav and Aaron. Gavaskar somehow does not see that. Very little protective gear, unfit batsmen, much livelier pitches and unlimited bouncer rule made the pacers of the 70s and 80s look more physically threatening. You are absolutely right about the talking down/ hyping part .
