Bumper Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 Has Atherton flown down to Lahore yet for the farewell interview? Not the best time to make fun of the big man. Athers is stayin put in UK:haha:
The Outsider Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 I could kill to have Inzamam in a commentary team now that he is retired!
Mandrake Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 Inzi will be missed...sply his post match interviews and running between wickets:D Definitely amongst the best batsmen to play for Pak. Played some really memorable knocks starting with the fiery innings at Wcup 92.:thumbs_up:
Mandrake Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 I could kill to have Inzamam in a commentary team now that he is retired! Imagine Inzi,Arun Lal and Rameez on the same commentary team...what a riot that would be:haha:
The Outsider Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 Not the best time to make fun of the big man. Athers is stayin put in UK:haha: I'm willing to foot the bill for the flight ticket.:tounge_smile:
The Outsider Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 If I were to choose his best innings they would be : Tests : The 80 odd he made at Mohali in the '04 series. Looked unstoppable and thrashed the daylights out of our bowlers. ODIs : The 122 at Karachi(?) chasing 350 was sublime batting.
ludhianvi Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 well played Inzi. A great player with the bat and a cool head under pressure. :thumbs_up: (Btw, did he overtake Miandad or did he fall short by 1 run :tounge_smile:
MundaPakistani Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 Overall a very good career! Could have been better but still a very fine career and would probably go down as PAK's 2nd greatest batsman ever.
beetle Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 I could kill to have Inzamam in a commentary team now that he is retired! :haha: Farewell inzy. All the best .....
Bumper Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 I'm willing to foot the bill for the flight ticket.:tounge_smile: Alright, Athers chose to interview by phone. -- Inzi: Bismillah, Reman-ur-Rahim, Thank is you Allah! Athers: Inzi, an undramatic end to a stellar career Inzi: Yeah boyzz is play good. We is bat well and field well. Athers: Am talking about you Inzi. You'd have liked to finish with an avg above the 50 mark ? Inzi: 49 average very good. Yusuf avg 56, but he no legend. PCB give good money, Habibul not coming Pakistan soon, i retire. Athers: Whats your biggest regret in your career ? Inzi: Harami log, McGrath and Donald. I join ICL, Saala McGrath too join ICL. I quit ICL, retire now. Athers: You had several opportunities to nail McGrath. In the 2004 tour, you missed out due of injury. Inzi: Big mosquito bite injury yaar. McGrath escape. Athers: You always had issues with Shoaib Akhtar, what do you think of his recent spat with Asif ? Inzi: Akhtar big fool. Saala, he practise free hit with Asif, get ban. Stoopid, never learn Athers: Have you thought about your post retirement career ? Inzi: I is do commentary. Arun Lal big inspiration. I is sign 4 year contract with Animal Planet. Athers: Thanks Inzi, good luck!
kumble_rocks Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 :haha::haha: @ Bumper. Boy, you are good.
MundaPakistani Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 Inzi over Javed anyday MP .... faar better player and never enjoyed any special favours from umpires ... It was such a shame that he couldnt end up as the top scorer. About 50% of the runs and an average of 46 away from home doesn't suggest that but anyways thats a debate for some other day.
Cricketics Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 though its pretty comman to say, but have to say "Thanks for the memories" he was a special talent.. and would be missed.. i really enjoyed the way he gave his speach in urdu.. he expressed his emotions a lot while speaking in urdu.. did the rite thing by telling robin jackman that he would like to speak in his own lang.
