He just had a coupe of streaky strokes. One of the edges pitched way in front of the slips and there was no possibility of a catch. The other one flew threw a vacant area of the slips. At no point in the whole innings did Sachin look like he was gonna get out or was vulnerable. He left balls with terrific judgment. He shepherded his partners very well. The outfield was like none that I have seen in India. Usually Indian outfields are known for their speed. This was the slowest one I have seen in a long long time. Well timed strokes were coming to a dead halt a few meters within the ropes. Scoring boundaries was very tough on this ground.

Firstly if it was Wankhede the ball wouldn't have even bounced as much as it did at Lahli. Did you watch the game even? Secondly, despite the bounce in the wicket at Lahli Sachiin managed to play it with soft hands which kept the ball low. You should have seen the pitch. It was bloody green...at places on the pitch you couldn't even tell the difference between the pitch and the rest of the ground. The scoreline itself must give you an idea of how lively the wicket was.

It was nowhere close to the pitch I thought it would be. Last year in Ranji final, Wankhede pitch was livelier than this with more pace and bounce. Lahli was difficult because it was two paced, not because it had bounce. I thought Ranji final Wankhede pitch was ideal for test cricket. The best innings of this match was played by Sunny Singh in 2nd innings. SRT showed why he has 100 centuries in world cricket.

The slowness of the wicket was an illusion created by the bowlers who could hardly hit 130kph. On the same pitch if Steyn, Johnson, Roach, or Yadav were bowling the ball woulda been flying. FWIW, Sachin himself said it was a very difficult pitch to bat on. Anyway let us agree to disagree with our assessments of the pitch

That incoming delivery bowled at pace was still troubling Sachin on Day 3. Haryana bowlers didn't bowl it often enough. WI will attack him there again. But he fought through the tough periods and guided his team home. May not mean much to his international form though as he hasn't really looked out of touch in last 2 years. Plays some great shots and just when he looks set, a slight lapse of concentration (perhaps due to slowed down reflexes) gets him out.
