Scarves Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 ORGANISERS of the 2015 Cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand announced ticket prices today, saying they expect more than a million people to attend the tournament's 49 matches. John Harnden, chief executive of ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, said prices had been set to ensure as many people as possible had the chance to attend the "once in a generation" event. Children's tickets will be available to all matches including the final, and would start at $5, while adult tickets begin at $20 for pool games. Harnden said "we've made sure the event is affordable with more than two third of all tickets $50 ($47) or under." Australia's cricket administrators have battled falling crowds in recent years for one-day cricket. Numbers fell from a total of 456,254 for the summer of 1999-2000 to 251,916 in 2011. High ticket prices have been one of the factors blamed in the drop-off in numbers. Tickets for next year's World Cup go on general sale from February 14. - See more at: http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/cricket/tickets-for-cricket-world-cup-in-australia-cut-to-just-5-for-2015-event/story-e6frg7rx-1226759097406#sthash.g7xqLTFT.dpuf HECK YEAH.
