Test matches: batting positions msd and ashwin?

Is dhoni's test match technique a liability in south africa, new zealand and england? Batting order position? Or do we need (unlikely i know) proper test wk batsman (none in india, TINA yes)0

Dhoni inspires zero confidence as a test batsman, there is no technique and he always seem to poke around painfully before getting out cheaply. On seaming pitches overseas he is a walking wicket.

Dhoni has certain weaknesses outside the off stump especially against new ball. If ball is very new it is an option to consider. If the ball is old and spinners are in operation, Dhoni is the right choice. Once he settles down he is not that bad.

That would be putting the all rounder tag firmly on Ashwin. Will be too early IMO as in the away series, him bowling well for us is far more important than the runs he's going to make.
