I have often come across that the English accent of South Indians is often made fun of. Although i am not from South i feel we should not make fun of that as most countrymen would make grammatical mistakes or other mistakes while communicating in English. I would definitely accept VVS's current accent. After all that's not first language for most of Indians. But i do see a valid argument that for someone who is making commentary a profession he must look to improve his accent gradually. As far his technical knowledge is concerned, he is well experienced and knowledgeable at the highest level to be apt to comment on cricket matches. More cricketers should come into commentary. Would rather like to hear a cricketer with accent issues rather than hearing someone speak with best of English communication skills but no practical experience at playing top level cricket.

Precisely. Only issue I think he can improve on is stop being always "responding" to questions from his co commentator and actually take control. He has provided insights of his own but albeit too brief. Most of the time he is "agreeing" with the co-commentator and essentially repeats the same cliche. Again, it's just inexperience and am sure he'll come good.

Hes good as an analyst,but live commentary is not his cup of tea
