Old guy Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Disagree mate. He is better than mohit Sharma and he has has an excellent seam position. I was really disappointed when he got injured. He is quicker than mohit for sure. You Only saw him in IPL no ? Trust me he is similar .. Infact in Odis I will give mohit more chances ..tests maybe after pandey I will give kulkarni go vos of shape he gets with swing but in Odis he won't add much over mohit

He is quicker than mohit for sure. Probably not. May be the same pace or less. And Mohit has an excellent seam position as well. Let him play more games overseas.
Old guy Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Probably not. May be the same pace or less. And Mohit has an excellent seam position as well. Let him play more games overseas. Lol pace wise kulkarni will be exactly like mohit
SLICKR392 Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Lol pace wise kulkarni will be exactly like mohit Mohit's avg. speed is usually 135+ which is good. Haven't watched a lot of Kulkarni.
Old guy Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Mohit's avg. speed is usually 135+ which is good. Haven't watched a lot of Kulkarni. He is same..quicker than bhuvi but not much difference but gets more nip out of track cos of great seam position

He is more of a odi bowler. I wouldn't pick him for test matches because I have seen him bowling Yorkers at good pace at the final overs. I don't consider him as a test bowler because he seems to be losing pace in the second innings.
G_B_ Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 one thing about Mohit v Kulkarni is that Kulkarni is taller and has a much higher arm position. So i think Kulkarni will generate more bounce. they both bowl at the same speeds of 135.

So i think Kulkarni will generate more bounce. they both bowl at the same speeds of 135. i agree and that is why i think he has better chance in tests in odis i like what mohit does and maybe in coming games he will get better not every one has start like bhuvi and also lets give our young cricketers decent run before benching them for ever like rahane as it did so much harm to him...do not want mohit to end like that . better play him in south africa and see how he does and if he is not good enough ask him to improve but giving proper chance is important cos he has not done bad enough to get dropped yet.. this is good that we have little competition now but lets not kid ourself with thinking that next bowler is gonna be any better just give them all decent run..after all with amount of odi cricket we play it should not be problem ..

CG Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Lol pace wise kulkarni will be exactly like mohit He is quicker than mohit anyday.Mohit dharma is too one dimensional for odis.
Old guy Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 He is quicker than mohit anyday.Mohit dharma is too one dimensional for odis. based on what? from what i have seen even in ranji matches they are of similar pace heck kulkarni averaged 135k only last year before that he was even slower
Old guy Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 this was sachin's last rani match http://www.espncricinfo.com/ranji-trophy-2013-14/engine/match/649161.html both kulkarni and mohit played and mohit bowled against good mumbai line up which had sachin and haryana batting is pathetic but look at score card both had similar pace in spells i saw..mohit looked quicker but i do not think he will be any special in tests and i even posted that..
CG Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 based on what? from what i have seen even in ranji matches they are of similar pace heck kulkarni averaged 135k only last year before that he was even slower U are comparing ranji match with odis? Very few bowlers average 135ks in ranji on those speedguns. In odis most bowlers are 5ks more than ranji. Kulkarni will easily touch 140-142ks in odis and Even in ipl he was quicker than mohit with a better bouncer.

Zanjeer Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 lol getting in yorkers some day is different than being a good death bowler dinda can bowl yorkers too you know :giggle: in odis we have seen what happened to umesh and i think kulkarni will do better by starting in test cricket than odi cricket That's your opinion. I think he's a better bet in Odis. Don't compare dinda with dhawal. Dhawal bowls excellent out swingers at pace. Dinda bowls too short and barely gets his Yorkers right.

Zanjeer Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 and that is ur opinion from what i have seen he will be more at home in tests rather than odis yeah you don't have to agree with me. But time will tell who is correct.
Old guy Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 yeah you don't have to agree with me. But time will tell who is correct. i don't care about being correct or wrong ..this is jsut what i have observed and i think you are over estimating kulkarni.. zaheer khan bowled quicker than him in ranji game ..so all i am saying is keep expectations in check..no one here hyped mohit..please find me post where we said he is gonna be next mcgrath ? some of us love talking about upcoming cricketer that doesn ot means he will become best in world that just meas he is good by indian standard and has performed well in domestic cricket (FYI same is case with kulkarni ) even with shami the all the talk was baout replacing vinay and co and not that he is phast bowler or anything

I'm just saying he is a good odi bowler who can bowl 10 overs at 135-140 pace, get swing and bowl Yorkers at the end which our bowlers lack.
